RBL Recycle

Hi all!

Today I have one of the last RBL's I bought at the sale last year that was still untried.. Whoops!

RBL Rescue Beauty Lounge Recycle Green creme nail polish nailswatchesRBL Recycle, two coats in daylight. Recycle is a gorgeous green creme that looks and applies a bit jellylike on me..

I love the color and I thought this would be my favorite out of the bunch that I ordered, but I actually like Orbis Non Sufficit better because that one's dustier.. Application was good, aside from the ittybitty problems I had with application because it applied a bit like a jelly on me (as I mentioned yesterday, I seem to have developed some kind of jelly nail polish applying problem) but other than that the formula was good and the dryingtime was good as well.

I wore this for two days before I got bored and did some nailart on it, but I'll show you that later :)

Barielle Konad Overload

Hi all,

While I was browsing through my nail folder, I found this overload of stamping with Barielle colors. I like the purple and the green together, but I think the blue blew it all overboard whehehe.

barielle grape escape berry blue sweet addiction m60 m57 stamping konad nail polish nailswatchesBarielle Grape Escape as a base, stamped with Sweet Addiction, Berry Blue and imageplates M57 and M60. Not my favorite konadicure to say the least, but it was fun to do.

I wish you all a very nice weekend :)

I will be working on the giveaway winner tomorrow - I'll ask my sister to pick a winner from all of the entries after I'm done checking and sorting them :)

It's Nailswatches' Birthday!

Hi all!

It's exactly a year ago that I went over to Nailswatches on blogger *yaaaay*! Which means that today is Nailswatches' birthday! I can't believe I've lasted a whole year with blogging.. On to the next year! As a treat, hot chocolate with whipped cream for everyone! ;) (or of course chocolate cake... hmm!)

suzi says da barry m white matt watermarble nailart nail polish nailswatchesHot chocolate and whipped cream watermarble with OPI Suzi Says Da! and BarryM Matt White. I swear I only used those two colors (over a white base), the colors combined to an almost purple shade in between the colors! I love the outcome of it. It might not be perfect, but it sure is pretty in my eyes.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and buy myself some *real* chocolate cake to celebrate ;) Hope you all have a very nice Friday!

Dark and Cloudy Konadicure.. Sort Of

Hi all,

Today I have a Konadicure for you that I did a while back and this one gives me a dark and cloudy feeling..

konadicure m60 stamping catrice absolutely chinchilly! wet n wild black creme nail polish nailswatchesCatrice Absolutely Chinchilly! stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and imageplate M60. The color combination gives me a very sad feeling, like pooring rain out of dark clouds.. I think it's the color combination. It's somehow making me sad! I've never had that before.. Weird, eh?

I don't think this is a konadicure I will redo in the future ;)

The OPI Damone Roberts 1968 giveaway is now closed! The winner will be announced later this week.

Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly!

Hi all,

Today I have one of the new Catrice colors for you: Absolutely Chinchilly! I posted earlier about this color in a comparison post, where I showed you that it's a dupe for Essie Chinchilly. Here is a full review on Absolutely Chinchilly! today.

catrice absolutely chinchilly new color 2010 dupe essie chinchilly nail polish nailswatchesCatrice Absolutely Chinchilly!, three coats under artificial light. The sun was giving weird colors, so I took this pic under my desk lamp, but the color is exactly how it looks on my nails. Absolutely Chinchilly! is a khaki creme. This color is a dupe for Essie Chinchilly, making it an affordable replacement if you're in The Netherlands! Essie costs € 13,95 a bottle here I believe, so it's an easy choice if Catrice is only € 2,49 a bottle!

The application was smooth and easy, unlike Essie's version. I prefer Catrice over Essie in this case. It takes three coats for opacity, but the polish is easy to apply so I didn't mind doing another coat.

I don't like the color though. Like what I had with Essie Chinchilly, it brings out the red in my skin, giving me slight lobster claws. The color just doesn't work with my skintone, unfortunately!

Bottom line: if you liked Essie Chinchilly, you'll definately like this one, too, but if you own one, you won't need the other.

Flounder Marble

Hi all,

Remember Flounder the fish from The Little Mermaid? He was the inspiration for this marble :)

The blue basecolor makes it look like a greenish yellow (that was not my intention). I love how the colors combine!

Scuttle, Sebastian and Flounder the little mermaidSee? Flounder is so cute. I don't get why he's called Botje ('Little bone') in the Netherlands tho. (Misschien naar het soort vis, Bot, maar Botje is helemaal geen bot!) The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite childhood movies. I should watch it again sometime soon!

This is one of my favorites so far. I seem to get a hang of it more and I really enjoy doing marbles! The only thing I don't like, is the cleanup afterwards lol!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Matte Hidden Treasure

Hi all,

A couple of days ago, I showed you Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and I decided to do something different, so I pulled out my matte topcoat!

Isn't that amazing? I thought I was going to love the shiny version more, but I definitely like the matte version better.

Silver and Black Konad

Hi all,

A quickie today, so many things to do! I'm reorganizing my room a bit, giving it a more "home-y" feel.. I have to sort out a whole box filled with old friendship books (from when I was like, 7?), old agenda's, prizes/certificates that I got from diving and a ton more. I think it's enough to keep me busy all morning ;)

For today I have a konadicure that I did last week and since I really like silver and black combinations, I thought I'd share.

barielle night moves wet n wild black creme nail polish konad m64 imageplate konadicure stamping nailswatchesBarielle Night Moves stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and imageplate M64. Silver and Black is a golden combination with me, and so is this one. I had a little bit of trouble transferring the stamp good enough to get straight lines, but I still like how it turned out!

My original post about Barielle Night Moves can be found here.

Do you have any 'golden combinations', either in colors or maybe even polishes that you like to combine together? I'm always in for some new inspiration!

Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure

Hi all,

Hidden Treasure is hiding for a lot of nail polish lovers, but I am one lucky bastard and I've had it for some time now! It's flakie galore in a bottle really.. I posted about it earlier when I wore it over Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto.

sally hansen hidden treasure flakie polish nailswatchesSally Hansen Hidden Treasure, one coat over one coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme. Awesomeeeeeee! I have to admit that when I look at the bottle, I'm kinda like 'meh'. I have that with more of my flakie polishes, because it just doesn't appeal to me from the other side of the glas..

sally hansen hidden treasure flakie polish nailswatchesBut then, when I put it on, it's like *haaaaaalelujah!* The main color of the flakies is orange, but when you tilt your hand just the tiniest little bit, you'll see yellow, gold and green pop up! It's so awesome to look at. This is over black, which is probably the color that gives it the most *pop* in my opinion (though I have to say that it's pretty amazing over pretty much every (dark) color!)

sally hansen hidden treasure flakie polish nailswatchesYou can see the colorchanging in this closeup pretty well, this picture shows every color that shows up when you wear Hidden Treasure.. *gasps* cool, eh?

Application is a little tricky; Sally Hansen's brush is huge and not that easy to work with. It takes on way too much polish, so you have to scoop that off before you put on the flakies over your basecolor..

Also, while removing these flakies (or others, for that matter), be sure to whipe off the polish to your tip. Do not scrub this polish towards your cuticles! The flakies will get stuck and it's almost impossible to get them off when they're stuck..

I see a lot of combinations with HT in the future..

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Zoya Robyn

Hi all,

A while ago, I bought some polishes from Angie and she put this polish in as an extra. How sweet!! This isn't a color I would have picked out myself, but after trying it, I have to say: I really like it!

zoya robyn flash collection 2010 bright blue creme nail polish nailswatchesZoya Robyn, three coats in daylight. Robyn is a bright blue creme. It works really good with my skintone, it really pops. I can see this being an awesome base for nailart, too.

Application was good. The polish was opaque in three easy coats. I did mess it up a bit on one finger, but that was my own fault lol. The polish dried quickly as well.

I wanna have some nice weather around here so I can feel like wearing this color! It felt a bit odd when I put it on, being all grey and rainy outside. But it's definitely a winner for me. Thanks Ange!

Andddd I just saw that I reached 650 followers! Jeez! I never would have thought that I would make it to 50 followers (hell, having 5 followers made me jump up and down), let alone 650. Thank you so much for visiting my little blog. I know I haven't been around that much the last couple of months and that I wasn't really a nice person when I was (most of the time). Even though the sun isn't shining anymore outside, I'm starting to feel a little better and my mood is lifting, step by step. I want to say thank you to all of you who have sent me messages and emails. They mean a lot to me. *takes out the tissues*

Thank you.

Lacey nails!

Hi all,

Last week, I showed you Barielle Get Mauve-ing and today I have the konadicure that I did over it afterwards. I like these colors as a background for konads like this!

Because Get Mauve-ing is such a soothing color, I really liked the lacey stamping on it. I like those more on the dusty, muted looking polishes somehow.

Barielle Get Mauve-ing

Hi all,

It's weekend! Let's hope the weather is being nice so we can go outside.. Yesterday was a sad rainy day. I have one of the Barielles for you that I got at the sale recently!

barielle get mauve-ing mauve taupe creme nail polish nailswatchesBarielle Get Mauve-ing, two coats in indirect sunlight. Get Mauve-ing is a gorgeous mauve taupe creme that I found to be very nice in combination with my skintone.

I think I could have done one coat and be fine with it, but I did two out of habit.

barielle get mauve-ing mauve taupe creme nail polish nailswatchesThis was the third Barielle bottle that I got that leaked during transport. The neck of the bottle had dried polish over it, sticking up and breaking off when I opened the bottle. The brush was wonky, with outstanding hairs and hairs that were longer than the rest of the hairs in the brush. Because the bottle leaked polish in transport, the polish got thicker and was really thick when I applied it.

I thought it was bad luck when two of my bottles leaked the first time (Berry Blue and A Bouquet For Ava), but now I'm concerned the caps aren't being put on tightly enough. I hope I just had bad luck and my other bottles will be fine.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Misa Dirty Sexy Money

Hi all,

I always thought that I already showed you this, but it turns out that I've only posted comparisons with this pretty.. Shame on me! Here she is: Misa Dirty Sexy Money.

living on the fast lane collection spring 2009 misa dirty sexy money dsm slate green dusty creme nail polish nailswatchesMisa Dirty Sexy Money, two coats in daylight. Dirty Sexy Money is a gorgeous dusty slate green with a hint of blue, making it not your typical color. I love it! It's so awesome.

Application was great - the polish went on smoothly, like butter! Misa's usually dry really quick on me too and this one was no exception.

For a while, Dirty Sexy Money was hard to find, but you can now easily buy it directly from Misa's website for $ 7.50, so it should be available with other sellers as well.

Essie Mesmerize

Hi all,

My laptop works a bit better today, but I can't run messenger or my photo programme next to internet.. No idea why but I'm sure it'll be fine later. Today I have an Essie for you: Mesmerize.

essie mesmerize blue creme nail polish nailswatchesEssie Mesmerize, two coats in daylight. Mesmerize is a vibrant medium blue creme - it's a little darker than my picture shows you.

Application was great! The formula was easy to work with and the polish dried quickly. I do think the Essie brush is a little on the thin side; I prefer my brushes to be a little wider, but other than that, I have no complaints!

What's your favorite Essie polish?

OPI You Don't Know Jacques

Hi all,

A short post today since I'm having computer troubles and my laptop doesn't allow me to have more than one window open - which is really frustrating. I hope I can fix it tomorrow, I didn't have luck today. Ah well. Today I have a long time lemming for you that I finally picked up in August I believe.

opi you don't know jacques ydkj taupe creme nail polish nailswatchesOPI You Don't Know Jacques, three coats in daylight. You Don't Know Jacques is a taupe creme. It's loved by many, but I don't like it. Let me tell you why: the color is lighter than I thought it would be. I like 'darker' taupes like Catrice Lost In Mud and this one is lighter.. According to the swatches I've seen before, it should be darker than what I own.

Second: the formula was horrible. It was extremely watery at some points and it contained some lumps (I don't know a better word to say this, sorry), making it very hard for me to apply. Although the formula was mostly on the (really) thin side, the drying time wasn't quick so of course I dented the polish before I could snap a pic.

No, this one's not for me. How much I hate it to post something like this post, I want to get my opinion on this one out. Maybe I got an off bottle, who knows. I just know that I will probably not be grabbing this in the future to polish my nails with.

CND Teal Sparkle Meets Orly Enchanted Forest

Hi all!

Two weeks ago, I showed you CND Urban Oasis and Teal Sparkle (damn, is it two weeks ago already?). I started trying Teal Sparkle over several different polishes, and today I want to share one of my favorites with you :)

I really love the effect - the flecks in Teal Sparkle reflect mostly green in various shades, but also blue and gold.

New Catrice Polishes and a Comparison

Hi all!

I wanted to show you the new polishes from Catrice that they generously gave to me for consideration. I got Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans! and Absolutely Chinchilly! I swatched them both on nailwheels as well as a comparison between Absolutely Chinchilly! and Essie Chinchilly. I still owe you the real on the nails swatches, don't worry, they're coming!

catrice hip queens wear blue jeans 350 blue shimmer blue flecks absolutely chinchilly khaki creme nail polish nailswatches new collection 2010 catriceLeft Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly! and Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans! on the right. Absolutely Chinchilly! is a khaki creme and both the color and the name really remind me of Essie Chinchilly, the comparison between these two is below :) Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans! is a gorgeous slighly dusty blue with tiny light blue glitter flecks in it. The color is darker in low light, making it appear like a dark blue creme.

So.. Here's the comparison I promised!

catrice absolutely chinchilly! comparison essie chinchilly khaki creme nail polish nails nailswatches catrice new collection 2010 previewEssie Chinchilly on the left, Catrice Absolutely Chinchilly! on the right, both are two coats. I have to tell you beforehand that my picture makes the difference appear to be more obvious, but it's hardly noticeable irl! Chinchilly is the tiniest amount of a shade lighter, but I can only see that when I'm looking at the wheel right under my nose, so to say. When I take more distance, let's say 15 - 20 cm, the difference is not visible at all.

I prefer the application of Catrice, since the brush is wider and makes it easier to apply the polish. Also, Catrice is thicker in formula, while Essie's formula is on the thin side.

Catrice made an affordable dupe for Essie Chinchilly! While Essie retails for € 13,49 a bottle, Catrice only costs a fraction of the price - € 2,49 a bottle.

CND The Look: Urban Oasis & Teal Sparkle

Hi all!

I'm feeling better, seems like I have a cold or something so I should be alright in a couple of days :) Today I have the present that I gave myself for you: The Fall/Winter set Night Factory with Urban Oasis and Teal Sparkle.

cnd creative nail design night factory the look fall winter 2010 urban oasis teal sparkle colour effect nail polish nailswatchesCND Urban Oasis, one coat in daylight. Yes ladies and gentlemen, this is a onecoater! Urban Oasis is a gorgeous teal creme that is awesome in opacity, since it only needs one coat to be fully opaque.

The polish itself is a little on the thick side, only just a little, so the polish is easy to work with and applies smoothly.

But then.. There's an effect in the set as well. It's meant to layer over the colour, so here we go.

night factory the look cnd creative nail design fall winter 2010 urban oasis teal sparkle colour effect nail polish nailswatchesCND Urban Oasis with Teal Sparkle on top. Doesn't that look pretty?! The sparkle really compliments the color and the particals show op really good.

cnd creative nail design fall winter 2010 urban oasis teal sparkle colour effect nail polish nailswatches night factory the lookBonus pic because it's so pretty ;)

I have one little note though. I own Jade Sparkle as well, which has a rubber cap, but the two polishes in the set both have plastic caps. I love the rubber caps because they make polishing the nails easier so I hope it's only the set that has plastic caps. I'm a big fan of rubber caps so I hope they keep those!

Overall: I really love this set and have to compliment myself on the awesome gift (hehe). I can see Urban Oasis becoming one of my go-to colors because it's opaque and dries quickly. I already used the Effect on another polish and it looks just as pretty as over Urban Oasis :)

Barielle Grape Escape

Hi all,

Today I have another Barielle for you! This time I have Grape Escape from the Sugar Rush Collection for Summer 2009 for you.

barielle grape escape funky dunkey dupe purple creme nailpolish nail polish sugar rush collection summer 2009 nailswatchesBarielle Grape Escape, two coats in daylight. Grape escape is a pretty medium purple creme. It reminds me of OPI Funky Dunkey, but I haven't compared them yet so I don't know if these are dupes of eachother.

barielle grape escape funky dunkey dupe purple creme nailpolish nail polish sugar rush collection summer 2009 nailswatchesApplication on this one was good. The polish is very pigmented and needs two coats for opacity. I had some bubbling issues, but I'm experiencing that a lot lately so I think that's more my problem than of the polish lol.

I'm digging the Barielles I have. I recently got in some more Barielles that I bought while they were on sale and I can't wait to try those as well! Plus, I'm a sucker for square bottles these days so Barielle fits right there in my square bottle obsession ;)

Barielle can be bought at www.barielle.com and costs $ 8 per bottle.

Orbis Non Sufficit Stripes

Hi all,

A quick and easy but fun mani for you. I showed you RBL's Orbis Non Sufficit last week and it was such a nice color, so I decided to wear it a little longer. I gave it a little twist by putting stripes on the polish and I really like the result!

rbl rescue beauty lounge orbis non sufficit ons dusty green creme china glaze ink dark blue black striper nail polish stripes striped nailswatches nailart
RBL Orbis Non Sufficit, two coats, striped with China Glaze Ink. Ink has a striper brush which is really thin. It makes it really easy to draw some stripes, although mine are not perfect because I don't have a steady hand at all.

It's so easy to do and in my opinion, it can spice up your manicure. I like the combination! What are your 'spice up the mani' tricks? Please share!
