A Sparkly NOTD

Hi all!

A short post today with a sparkly NOTD I wore a week ago. I finally got my hands on one of the CND effects and now I want more! (Actually, Natasja took one of the CND Spakles with her to visit us while we were on vacay so I tried another one as well) I will do a proper review on this in the future, but for now.. Let's take a look at the sparklies :)

It turnes Vital into some kind of burgundy shimmery basecolor instead of the purple it origionally is. The sparkle consists of gold and greenish (jade) sparkle which is awesome to look at.

What do you think of this combination?

Nubar Knight's Armor

Hi all!

Today I have a polish for you that I borrowed from Michèle (thanks hun!); Nubar Knight's Armor. I actually ordered it myself, but while I was ordering, it went out of stock. Meh. Anyway, I could play with it a bit so here it is!

It looks alright when applied like this. I expected the glitters to give the polish more dimension, but it doesn't. So, of course, I slapped a coat of matte topcoat on it to see how that would look.

Appliction of Knight's Armor is good. The glitters won't slide everywhere when you're applying it, which is a big plus! The polish dries quickly and was dry before I could take pictures.

That's is for today, dear reader, thanks for stopping by!

Nubar Raspberry Truffle

Hi all!

I wanted to post this yesterday, but due to the weather I wasn't able to.. The thunder and lightning made my internet connection go crazy! This polish is one that I was lemming quite badly since I saw swatches online. Nubar isn't easy to get your hands on in The Netherlands, since bynubar.com doesn't ship outside the us, so it took me a while to find an etailer that could sell me this pretty. I'm talking about Nubar Raspberry Truffle, which is a part of the Chocolate Truffles Collection for Fall/Winter 2009.

Raspberry Truffle is a gorgeous deep dark chocolate brown with red and raspberry colored shimmer. The color is closer towards the first picture. Rich and deep dark brown.. It's a unique polish in my stash and I love it. It has the vampy feel and look that I love lately and it's just gorgeous.. I totally forgot to mattify it, so I'll do that next week.

Application was good. I never have problems with Nubar actually.. The brush is easy to work with and the cap is nice to hold, so no problems there either.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nubar Iris Dust

Hi all!

How are you all doing? Surviving the week so far? I'm so damn tired since we have summertime (last sunday). My whole biological clock is screwed up! So I'll make it a relatively short post again, sorry about that. I have Nubar Iris Dust for you today. I have had her for quite a while now and I've worn her before, but I had serious shrinkage with Seche Vite before I could take pics. So here she is!

Nubar Iris Dust, four coats in daylight. Iris Dust is a quite sheer, but very pretty duochrome that flashes between dark, faded pink and bronze. I'd say you can best layer this over another color, since I still have VNL with those four coats. I think I would have liked her even more if the bronze was darker, but that's just me :)

The polish structure is quite thin, making it sheer. Drying time is quite long, but this is caused by the many layers I put on my nails before taking these pics. I didn't have issues with application whatsoever though.

What do you think of Iris Dust? Do you like duochromes as much as I do? It's just fascinating to see the colors change on my nails. What's your favorite duochrome?

Thanks for stopping by!

Some Stash Pics.. And My Swap Package From Latvia!

Since I already posted these on the forum where my nail polish addiction began (The Dutch Fok! forum), I might as well post the pictures here :). I don't have bottlepics (that would have been way too much work since I took these pics while I was cleaning), but if you want to see something up close or if you have other questions, please let me know in the commentsection. Warning: this post is pic heavy!!

First drawer: Treatments, base- and topcoats, removers and such

Second drawer: China Glaze, OPI and Orly. This drawer is full, so I have to figure something out to fit in the polishes that are on their way..

Third drawer: RBL, Essie, Misa, Color Club, Zoya, Nubar, Ciaté, Nfu Oh

Fourth drawer: Diamond Cosmetics, Milani, solo Sally Hansen nail prism, GOSH, Models Own, LA Girl Rockstar, NYX Girls

Fifth drawer: DS polishes and brands with only one or two bottles, like Essence, Miss Sporty, Paris Memories and La Femme

I forgot to take a picture of the sixth drawer, which is my nailart drawer and contains my Konad stuff, brushes, stripers and other nailart supplies.

This is the top of my Helmer. I have two bottles of remover (Essence, I have two more bottles on my desk.. Forgot to put that in my drawers), a nail kit, some handcremes and Nfu Oh Bottles that were to pretty to fully put away - so I compromised and put the prettiest in this little basket.

So! Whew, that's a lot of pictures.. I always enjoy looking at other peoples stashes and I hope you do too.

Today I also got my swap package from Linda from Latvia in! I was so excited when the neighbour gave my package to my father. I was home all day, but my neighbour kidnapped my package :( Well, at least I have it! Ready for more pics?

From left to right: Kinetics My Blue Heaven, Nubar Pleasure, Nubar Blue Disco Glitter, Nubar Indigo Illusion, Kinetics Luxury Purple and Essie Pound Cake. And a picture from what is in the back of the picture:

Chocolat! With cappuchino marshmellow filling..

Oh my god. I am so happy with my package! Linda even included Pleasure, an oldschool Nubar that even is in a square bottle. I never heard of it before, but I can't find swatches!! I'm so excited to try this one, it flashes blue, purple, gold, green and turquoise. I love all of my polishes and I'm sure I will enjoy all of them! Thanks again, Linda!
