My Favorites Of 2010

Hi all,

Today I have my favorites of 2010 for you! It contains the polishes I've loved the most in the past year, so that means they're not necessarily 2010 releases :) I'll link my original post of the polish underneath the picture! I've sneaked in some favorite mani's as well. Be prepared for a lot of pictures and a lot of variety in my nail length!

It's A Sad Day Today

Hi all,

Today is a sad day. Our 16 year old cat was put to sleep today by the vet. The poor thing was ill for the last couple of months and we tried every possible treatment for the sneezing disease that he was diagnosed with, but today we discovered that it wasn't the real thing that was going on. Our little man had a tumor in his little head that caused chronic nose bleeds and because of the bleeding, he got weaker every day. It's better for him this way, but it's so, so sad to lose the pal I've had for 16 years.

Rest in peace, Mistie, my dear little nerdy friend.

I was planning on doing a happy mani today because I launched my new blog layout, but I decided to do something a little less festive for today.

Diamond Cosmetics Cherry Tobacco, two coats in daylight. Cherry Tobacco is a vampy brown with glowing shimmer and it screams fall to me.

Application was good, no problems with drying time either so I was pleasantly surprised since this was one of those polishes that was sitting in my Helmer since like forever. And if it feels like fall.. We'll put some fall on the nails.


Diamond Cosmetics Cherry Tobacco stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM04 and China Glaze Millennium. Millennium works really really well on these kind of shades and I just love the contrast between the brown and the silver.

These kind of manicures just fascinate me although there isn't even glitter, holo or duochrome to keep me satisfied..

The Next Best Thing To My Private Jet?

Hi all!

Today I have one of the polishes for you that is said to be a dupe/replacement of OPI's My Private Jet. I'm talking about the brown holo version. I don't own MPJ myself, so if you have it, please let me know if it comes close to the polish I'm about to show you.

The polish I'm talking about is Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm. I bought this one when I didn't even like holo's and I didn't understand all the fuss about holographic polishes. I started to like them more and more, so when the sun came out, so did this polish out of my helmer!

Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail Charm, three coats in daylight/sunlight. The first picture is taken without direct (sun)light hitting the nail, so you can see the color of the polish itself without the holograpic effect. Chainmail Charm is a brown based holographic polish, that is a bit shy in soft daylight but shines in full sun. It was quite hard to capture all the holo and I have to say that I couldn't capture it all, so please note that Chainmail Charm is more holographic than shown in my pics.

Application on this one was fine, I had no problems. Drying time was good. The polish dries glossy and relatively smooth.

After taking those pics (and like a gazillion others), I went outside to take pics in full sun.

Ain't that cute? One of our cats came to check out my nail polish - and camera, obviously. Normally she stays away from my nails because she finds it smelly, but not this time :)

Diamond Cosmetics Never So Evergreen

Hi all!

A quick post today again, I apologize for being a little short in posts.. I've been so busy, starting with work again last week! I have a date tomorrow with two lovely nailgals so I'll get to bed early today. I really like this polish so I hope this makes up for my absence :)


Diamond Cosmetics Never So Evergreen, two coats. The first picture is taken in sunlight, the second and third were taken indoors. Never So Evergreen is a mossy, smokey green with tons of lighter green and golden shimmer. It looks so stunning! I've never seen anything like this and I think I can say this is a unique polish. Never So Evergreen is part of the Fall 2009 collection of Diamond Cosmetics. Look at the shimmer:

Hot eh? Application was flawless. Structure was good and the polish dried quickly.

Diamond Cosmetics Decadence

Hi all!

First of all: I reached 100 followers this weekend! Yay! I never expected to have so many followers.. I want to thank you all for your support, your comments and emails really make it worth while to keep bloggin'! *hugs*

Mijn excuses voor mijn afwezigheid gisteren, ik denk dat ik iets verkeerds heb gegeten dus ik voelde mij gisteren niet goed. Vandaag gaat het beter, dus ik heb wat kunnen spelen met nagellak :) Waarschuwing: veel foto's in deze post!

I apologize for my absence yesterday, I wasn't feeling so good.. I think it was something I ate. Today I am feeling a little better, at least good enough to play a little with polish :) Warning: this post is pic heavy!




Diamond Cosmetics Decadence, drie laagjes in daglicht/zonlicht. Decadence is een hele mooie bruine shimmer. Applicatie was goed, hoewel ik had verwacht dat ze sneller dekkend zou zijn.

En om er verder een beetje mee te spelen.. Decadence met een laagje Essie Matte About You!

*kwijl*! Ik moest mezelf inhouden om niet alle foto's die ik gemaakt heb, ook daadwerkelijk te plaatsen. Damn, dit is gaaf! En omdat ik weet dat deze vraag gaat komen: nee, ze is geen dupe van You Don't Know Jacques Suede. De shimmer is minder, maar Decadence is ook donkerder en daarom vind ik haar errug mooi!

*Drools* I had to restrain myself to not post every single picture I took of this. Damn, this is hot! And because I know this question will be asked: No, she is not a dupe of You Don't Know Jacques Suede. Decadence has less shimmer, but is also darker and because of that verrrry pretty! I might even like Decadence mattified better than I like YDKJ Suede.. It's pretty close!

Diamond Cosmetics Party Hearty

Allereerst: dit zijn oudere foto's, waarop ik dus nog lange nagels heb.
First: these are older pictures, as you can see since I have longer nails.

Party Hearty, een zandkleurige/beige lak met shimmering en glitters van Diamond Cosmetics. Dit is twee laagjes, maar één laagje was voor de dekking voldoende geweest. De shimmering van de lak is soortgelijk aan Sparkling Sherry, alleen daarbij werd de bling versterkt door de intense kleur van Sparkling Sherry. Dit is wel een van mijn favoriete glitterlakjes van Diamond Cosmetics, hoewel dit Sherry niet overtreft.

Party Hearty is a sandy beige-y polish with shimmer and a foily finisch. This is two coats, but one would have been sufficient to get opacity. The shimmering in this color is like the shimmer in Diamond Cosmetics Sparkling Sherry, but the intense color of Sparkling Sherry gave more effect to the 'bling'. Still, this is one of my favorite glittery polishes of Diamond Cosmetics, since I like it very much. Nothing too heavy, but it's pretty and goes with almost every situation :)
