Stampabilities # 018: Barielle

Hi all,

Today I have the 18th edition of Stampabilities for you, with this time Barielle to show the stamping ability of four more polishes!

stampabilities stamping konad barielle polished princess misbehaving mistress hidden hideawayStampabilities 018: Barielle. They all show up pretty nicely, except for Misbehaving Mistress, but I suppose that's because the color itself isn't really popping, so to say. Hidden Hideaway is a truly stunning color to stamp with, btw!

If you have suggestions for the upcoming editions of Stampabilities, please let me know! You can leave a comment on this post, but you can also send me an email.

Edited to add: Apparently, I did something wrong with the scheduling of the posts, which means they didn't go up like I planned it. Argh. Anyway, I hope everything goes up from now on, because I don't think I will be fully up and running this week.

Stampabilities # 017: OPI

Hi all,

First of all: Happy New Year! I hope you all had a nice New Years Eve and you still have all your fingers :)

This weeks Stampabilities consists of similar colors instead of different colors.

stampabilities nail polish opi overexposed at south beach purple opolis louvre me louvre me not malaga wine stamping konad nailswatchesStampabilities 017: OPI with from pinkie to index Malaga Wine, Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not, Overexposed in South Beach and Purple-Opolis. I decided to do similar colors this time, to see if you would be able to compare which one you'd better pick for stamping! Three of them are purple, the fourth - Malaga Wine - is a red jelly. Again, they all show up nicely, but in this edition of Stampabilitites, Malaga Wine stands out in my opinion. It's the most pigmented in terms of stamping, which I found surprising, since it's a jelly.

And now something completely different. You may have noticed (or not, of course) that I'm not on Twitter anymore and I haven't updated my blog in a couple of days. I'm not feeling very well at the moment and I'm on the verge of having a breakdown, so I'm also using this post to tell you that I'm taking some time off of blogging and being online in general. I don't know how long that'll be, but I expect to be 'gone' for at least a week and a half to straighten things out. Let's just say 2010 was a sucky year for me and it has taken it's toll. I want 2011 to be better, so I'll have to work at that and start off with a decent base.

I hope I will be able to pick up blogging again after that. I hope you understand. I have scheduled some posts for the next couple of days and next week's Stampabilities, so you will still have something to read while I'm taking my break.

I wish you all a very happy new year and hope 2011 brings you love, happiness and health.

Stampabilities # 016: Catrice

Hi all,

This post is a little late because of the holidays - I didn't want to spend my Christmas preparing posts! :) It's here though with this week's brand - Catrice.

stampabilities catrice run forest run hip queens wear blue jeans i scream peach absolutely chinchilly nail polish stamping nailswatchesAs you can see, they all show up pretty nicely! They're all really pigmented so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they work so well for stamping, but I still am surprised to see how many polishes work for stamping! These are no exeption. The darker colors show up best, because they're dark, but the light colors will also show up on darker base colors.

So tell me, how was your Christmas weekend? Mine was mainly packed with food - my uncle (who is a cook, btw) prepared 6 delicious courses on Saturday which nearly made me explode because it was all so yummy. My parents gave me (among other things) a box packed with cosmetics - and polishes, but I don't think I will use those since I nearly fainted from the smell of them. We had a Twilight DVD marathon on Boxing Day because my sister gave me the Eclipse DVD as a Christmas present (Love it!)! For dinner, we had/did/ate gourmet (I have no clue what you do with this in English lol) so to be honest.. I'm still full ;) Let me know what you did this Christmas! It's always fun how other people celebrate (if you do, of course).

Stampabilities # 015: Barielle

Hi all!

I'm so sorry that I forgot last week's Stampabilities, I feel so stupid! I hope you'll forgive me.. Anyway, this week is a new edition of Stampabilities, this time with some Barielles.

barielle glammed out garnet date night night moves get mauve-ing nail polish nailswatches stampabilitiesBarielles! As you can see, they all show up pretty nicely. Night Moves is a silver foil and shows up better on darker backgrounds. It gives a crisp look instead of a solid silver look so that might be interesting to do firework stamping.. Both Date Night and Glammed Out Garnet would be nice Christmas stamping colors in my opinion!

Stampabilities # 014: Zoya

Hi all,

A little late, but here it is: this week's feature of Stampabilities, featuring Zoya this time!

zoya stamping konad imageplate m60 sparkle collection 2010 mimi ivanka charla nidhi nail polish stampabilities nailswatchesStampabilities # 014: Zoya - Ivanka, Nidhi, Charla and Mimi. All four of these are from the recent Sparkle Collection. And as you can see, they all show up pretty nice! Ivanka is a little less bright as the others, but still easily visible. I think Nidhi may make an awesome red to stamp with for the holidays :)

Stampabilities # 013: Failure

Hi all,

Last week, someone suggested that I could do a Stampabilities feature of light colors over black, so I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it was a huge disaster and I didn't have time to redo this week's 'edition' over white so now I'm stuck with a crappy week of Stampabilities. I'm sorry, but light colors over black just doesn't really work imo.. *sigh*

I hope you'll excuse the crappy version this week, I'll be back with stamping over white next week!

stampabilities something sweet cords golden spurs moody blue china glaze nail polish stamping konad nailswatchesAs you can see, you can't see anything. The basecolor is too shiny, making it even less possible to look at what I've stamped on my nails. The only color showing up a bit is Moody Blue, even though it doesn't look like Moody Blue, but like a murky bluish color. *sigh* It's just not working for me..

Well at least we know now that these don't really show up over a black base xD!

Stampabilities # 012: Random OPI Pt 2

Hi all,

It has been a couple of days, but I had a migraine that came up on Thursday night and didn't want to lie down until Saturday morning.. I've been exhausted the past two days, but the migraine is gone so I guess I'm back :) I hope you had a better weekend than I did! *plans a shopping trip and sushi in the next week to make this week better*

stampabilities you don't know jacques jade is the new black koala bear-y ink opi nail polish nailswatchesThis week's Stampabilities: Random OPI's. I randomly grabbed four from my Helmer and tried them for stamping. They all show up pretty good, but these are not "WOW" for me. They're all a bit muted on the nail and on the paper, but they are clearly visible and work for stamping. I was surprised that You Don't Know Jacques shows up this well!

I'm sorry the lighting isn't the best, it's been a bit of a pain to take proper pictures.. I hope there will be better light next week (although there are weatherpeople saying it will be snowing next week!) so I can get better pics :)

Stampabilities # 011: Chanel

Hi all,

Last week someone suggested that I'd do an edition of Stampabilities on the Chanels that I have, so here it is! I also have Cosmic Violine, but I will do that one later - I think.

stampabilities stamping imageplate m60 nail polish chanel konad konadicure gondola particuliere paradoxal nouvelle vagueStampabilities 011: Chanel. Nouvelle Vague wouldn't transfer properly from the stamp onto the paper. I have no idea why. I think the color is a bit light to stamp with, but you'll probably do fine with a dark(er) base color. Gondola was a pleasant surprise for me. Another red shimmer winner! Particulière and Paradoxal show up nicely, Particulière being slightly better visible than Paradoxal. I expected that to be the other way around..

Thanks for the suggestion, Silva!

Stampabilities # 010: Essie

Hi all,

Another round of Stampabilities! This week I picked some Essies from my stash to see how they work for stamping.

essie stampabilities stamping polish nail polish mink muffs angora cardi calypso midnight cami nailswatchesStampabilities 010: Random Essies. They all show up pretty good, but I was a bit disappointed with Mink Muffs. I hoped that Mink Muffs would be more visible that it is. The other three were pleasant surprises, especially Midnight Cami and Angora Cardi. I can see myself using those for future stamping purposes ;) The image is clickable, I left it bigger since I only have one image to show you this week because of the bad lighting

I still love picking polishes and seeing what they do when they are used as stamping polishes. Some polishes are colors that I would have never thought of that they would work!

Hi all!

Another edition of Stampabilities. Let's get started!

They're all pretty pigmented! Stamping transforms Toxic Seduction in kind of a greyish green with only a hint of sparkle, so it doesn't look like the normal color of Toxic Seduction when it's on your nails.

stampabilities konad stamping konadicure imageplate m60 nail polish misa cherry glazed dsm dirty sexy money sorry just can't help it toxic seduction nailswatchesThey show up really nice on the nails as well, so it's another win this week! Jeesh, will it ever stop? ;) I'm really happy to be finding so many new polishes to stamp with, so I'm a happy camper.

Hope this helps some of you!

PS: I'm sorry if some of my images disappear and are replaced by the Photobucket picture.. I didn't get a warning that I was close to my limit so I just discovered that I used too much bandwith this month. I hope to figure it out later today!!

Stampabilities # 008: Ciaté Pt 1

Hi all,

Another round of stampabilities! I think you already know the details, so here's this weeks edition: Ciaté.

stampabilities festival fever talent scout ditch the heels main stage headliner blue green teal pink purple creme nail polish stamping imageplate m60 konad nailswatchesAnother win this week! I'm honestly impressed with the stamping abilities this week (and the last couple of weeks too). I feel like I hit the jackpot! All of them show up really good - not much to say here. Let's take a look at how they look on the nails!

stampabilities festival fever talent scout ditch the heels main stage headliner blue green teal pink purple creme nail polish stamping imageplate m60 konad nailswatchesNothing changed about the visibility of these when they're stamped on the nails. They're just as noticable as they are stamped on plain white paper, which is awesome. I never thought of the Ciaté Festival Fevers as stamping polishes, but it makes sense because they are all really pigmented.

stampabilities festival fever talent scout ditch the heels main stage headliner blue green teal pink purple creme nail polish stamping imageplate m60 konad nailswatchesAnd just a little experiment; I thought I might do it like this in the future: a combined shot. Would this work, or would you like to see the seperate pics (as well)? Hmm, I will think about that haha.

Stampabilities # 007: China Glaze Up And Away

Hi all!

Double 0 7 today! Hehe I always like the number when I see it :) Todays edition of Stampabilities features the China Glaze Up and Away pastel polishes. Let's take a look!

china glaze up and away pastels lemon fizz light as air peachy keen re-fresh mint nail polish nails nailswatches konad stamping roundupChina Glaze Up and Aways. They all show up pretty good, the only thing is that they're pastels so the colors aren't that noticable, but they all show up and I think they will all work over slightly different (darker) colors as well.

china glaze up and away pastels lemon fizz light as air peachy keen re-fresh mint nail polish nails nailswatches konad stamping roundupOn the nail: Lemon Fizz and Peachy Keen show up the best, but that's also because they're a bit darker/more noticable than the other colors.

I would say that these work for stamping as well, so that's another win this week!

Stampabilities # 006: MAC

Hi all!

The sixth weekly feature of stampabilities.. And I found some polishes to stamp with that I didn't expect to work this good!

The other two as well, but the green and red really pop up. Somehow the colors also seem really christmas-y to me haha. I smell a Christmas konadicure coming up..

All the colors show up just as well on the nail as they did on the paper. Yay, more stamping polishes discovered!!

Stampabilities # 005: RBL

Hi all!

Time flies by.. I have no clue where the last couple of days went! I was just a bit lazy, so I really have to pick up my Spanish course today if I don't want to get too much behind.. Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend! It's October.. Brr. The word only makes me shudder at the thought of fall.

Todays stampabilities: RBL's! I picked four to try some stamping with and this is how it came out.

But.... Do they show up on the nails as well?

Damone Roberts 1968 is the lightest color, but still shows up very clearly!

And to make it complete; on the nails!

Hope this helps!

Stampabilities # 003: Hard Candy

Hi all!

We're already at the third week with Stampabilities! Wow, time does fly by.. Anyway, here are this weeks polishes, featuring Hard Candy.

stamping regular normal polish stampabilities konadicure konad imageplate m60 hard candy splendid rumor mill date knight pink glitter yellow creme plum dark purple cremeHard Candy Splendid, Rumor Mill, Date Knight. As usual, these were stamped with imageplate M60 on a white piece of paper.

Splendid and Rumor Mill show up very good, but Date Knight doesn't. It's a pink glitter in a clear base (and I have to admit that I thought it would have a little pink pigment to it). I wouldn't recommend stamping with the latter, but the first two should be fine!

I will upload the stamping on the nails asap, sorry for the delay!

Do you have requests for stamping with certain polishes? If so, please let me know so I can see what I can do for you!

The products in this post were sent to me by the manufacturer or their PR company for consideration. For more information, please read my disclaimer.

Stampabilities # 002: Orly Cosmic FX

Hi all!

Since everyone was quite enthousiastic in their comments (thanks for all the replies!), I decided to do a weekly feature of Stampabilities. Today part 2: Orly Cosmic FX.

stamping with orly cosmic fx out of this world it's not rocket science galaxy girl lunar eclipse space cadet halleys comet cosmix konad stampabilities nailswatchesAs you can see, these are not as pigmentated as the Barielles in last week's Stampabilities, but they all show up. Space Cadet is the lightest and isn't nearly as stunning as it is when you wear it as a full mani (or swatch for that matter).

Here are some real stamping shots:

stamping with orly cosmic fx out of this world it's not rocket science galaxy girl lunar eclipse space cadet halleys comet cosmix konad stampabilities nailswatchesLeft to right: Space Cadet, It's Not Rocket Science, Out Of This World.

stamping with orly cosmic fx out of this world it's not rocket science galaxy girl lunar eclipse space cadet halleys comet cosmix konad stampabilities nailswatchesLeft to right: Halleys Comet, Lunar Eclipse, Galaxy Girl.

They're all visible, but they're kind of faded. I personally wouldn't stamp with Space Cadet, but It's Not Rocket Science for example would do pretty good over white.

Just like last time, these are stamped with imageplate M60.

Stampabilities # 001: Barielle

Hi all!

A little while ago, I told you about something I thought of, that I could do on my blog. I've decided to give it a shot! There are a ton of polishes suitable for Konad and the lovely Michelle from The Lacquer Files has made a stamping polish database to help you chose a regular polish that works for stamping. I wanted to show you what the regular polishes would look like when you stamp them, so you can see exactly how clear the image is. Today is the first time I'll feature this on my blog, but if you think it's a good idea, I'll make it a weekly post that will go up on mondays.

Todays Stampabilities: Barielles!

stampability stamping with regular polish barielle berry blue a bouquet for ava pin up grape escape sweet addiction suntini nail polish konad konadicure nailswatchesI stamped them all with my Konad stamper and imageplate M60 on a piece of white paper. As you can see, they all show up pretty nicely!

The idea is to stamp these on a white base as well, so I will be adding a picture with this in the next week. I will try to do this with all the polishes in my stash eventually, but since that's a massive amount of work, it's probably best to break it into ittybitty pieces.

Let me know what you think about the Stampabilities! Should I make this a weekly thing?

The product in this post was sent to me by the manufacturer or their PR company for consideration. For more information, please read my disclaimer.
