Dress Like A Chick For Halloween!

Hi all,

I let my sister pick what to post today and since she thought chicks were cute.. Chicks it is. It feels very easter-y to me but it looks so damn cute and I couldn't help myself! I assume you can dress up like a chick for Halloween, so chicks on the nails must be fine as well :P

I used Hard Candy Splendid as a base and H&M Love At First Sight for the eggshells and the eyes. I used Wet n Wild Black Creme for the eyes and finished the chicks by giving them beaks with China Glaze Breakin'. They turned out pretty nice!

What are you gonna dress up like for Halloween?

Rumor Mill Filled With Joy

Hi all,

Today I have a konadicure for you that I did over Hard Candy Rumor Mill, which I showed you a couple of weeks ago. I love Konad - it's a great way to spice up your mani when you're wearing a polish and you want to spice it up for whatever reason. I decided to do one of my new favorite designs; a lacy stamp.

Joy really compliments the plum in Rumor Mill in my opinion. The lace design is clearly visible, but not really in your face and I like that!

Pretty, right? The vampy, almost black, plum color might be a bit too dramatic for some people, but the stamping lightens the mani up a bit.

I also took a closeup shot:

I know I will keep doing these kind of konadicures, just because they're fun :) And of course, I really like the designs I use to stamp with :)

Hard Candy Rumor Mill

Hi all,

How are you doing? What did you do this weekend? I'm doing a little bit better again, so I'm trying to pick everything up again. I *think* (and hope) that I got back to everyone that sent me an email and I will work on answering comments tomorrow. I've had a couple of questions about the entries for the Harry Potter nailart contest. I will be uploading those today or else tomorrow so the voting can begin.

I have a huge pile of polishes that are waiting to be tried so I'll try to post those as soon as I can, as well as some nailart I did a week or two ago. Are there things that you would like to see on my blog in the next couple of weeks? I'm thinking of a cuticle rescue plan post as well, since I really neglected my cuticles the past 1,5 weeks and I'm trying to get them into shape again. Would you like to see that? Anyway, let me know!

Hard candy rumor mill plum dark creme jelly shiny nail polish nailswatches blackened almost blackHard Candy Rumor Mill, two coats in daylight. Rumor Mill is a very dark, almost black deep plum jellylike creme. I'm having difficulty putting this in one category. It's looks like a jelly, but the polish is on the thick side. It also caused me a ton of cuticle drag, so I'm not sure of what I should think of the formula.

Hard candy rumor mill plum dark creme jelly shiny nail polish nailswatches blackened almost blackI like the color; it's a tad lighter irl so it's not as black as you see in my pics, but it was hard to photograph since the polish is rediculously shiny (no shiny topcoat needed here!) so I couldn't capture the plummy color ánd avoid picturing myself in the reflection lol.

Application on Splendid was ok, but I don't like the application on this one. I'm hoping that this was just one miss and that the last polish I have is of better quality formulawise. I will try some thinner next time to see if it gets better, which I hope, but for now, I'm not a fan of this polish - only because of the formula.

Stampabilities # 003: Hard Candy

Hi all!

We're already at the third week with Stampabilities! Wow, time does fly by.. Anyway, here are this weeks polishes, featuring Hard Candy.

stamping regular normal polish stampabilities konadicure konad imageplate m60 hard candy splendid rumor mill date knight pink glitter yellow creme plum dark purple cremeHard Candy Splendid, Rumor Mill, Date Knight. As usual, these were stamped with imageplate M60 on a white piece of paper.

Splendid and Rumor Mill show up very good, but Date Knight doesn't. It's a pink glitter in a clear base (and I have to admit that I thought it would have a little pink pigment to it). I wouldn't recommend stamping with the latter, but the first two should be fine!

I will upload the stamping on the nails asap, sorry for the delay!

Do you have requests for stamping with certain polishes? If so, please let me know so I can see what I can do for you!

Hard Candy Splendid

Hi all,

Today I have the first out of three polishes for you that I recently received for review. These are Hard Candy's and they come in a square bottle of 10.3 ml and a cute little ring on the cap.

hard candy yellow creme splendid swatch nailswatches nail polishHard Candy Splendid, three coats in daylight. Splendid is a very bright yellow creme that feels a bit like Easter to me. It's an awesome color that's not too bright or a pastel like we've seen a lot of this year.

Application was ok. The polish is on the thick side so there's easily a lot of polish on the brush. It's easy to handle when you get the hang of it - you just need to get less polish on the brush and more coats to be opaque. This was three coats for opacity and those three were really needed to cover up vnl.

Dryingtime was good; despite the fact that I needed three coats, the polish was dry within minutes so I could do a little nailart on it (although that didn't really come out the way I wanted it to be haha, but that's completely my own 'fault' :) )

I really like the color since it's a kind of yellow that I don't own more of. I have a ton of yellow pastels and a couple really really bright yellows, but these are darker than this one.

Playdate Pics! And OPI Over The Taupe

Hi all!

If you're following me on Twitter, you probably know that it was playdate time yesterday! I met up with Michèle from Lacquerized, Karin from Romika's Nails, Michelle from The Lacquer Files and Natasja. We all brought a ton of polishes (though this wasn't nearly everything we own!) and were dazed with the amount of polish on the table. This is what a playdate with five lacquer ladies looks like:

And from a different angle:

Michèle and Karin actually had their polishes in their Helmers, so they are not even all visible in these pics! Woah! Can you imagine us just staring at all the bottles, not knowing which polish to pick?

We all picked a polish to paint our nails with and since this is my nail blog, what would this post be without a pic of our hands and nails?

Clockwise, starting from the top: Michèle - wearing purple H&M Hello Kitty with Sally Hansen Garnet Lapis, Karin - wearing Milani Hi-Tech, Michelle - wearing Hard Candy Mr Wrong with Hard Candy Breakup on top, Natasja - wearing Orly Cashmere Cardigan and me - wearing OPI Over the Taupe.

I'm wearing OPI Over the Taupe as a NOTD (which I borrowed from Michelle - thanks dearie!! <3 ), but I spiced it up a little with some flowery stickers. I actually have some weird kind of bubbeling in my polish, not regular bubbles but very teeny tiny wobbly parts that look like they lay under the polish. Michèle told me she has the same thing. I have no clue what caused this bubbeling.. Anyway, here are some pics of today's manicure!

OPI Over the Taupe, three coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont and flowery stickers. Over the Taupe is a gorgeous taupe creme. I really like this color! I took advantage of all the bottles on the table and it's no dupe of Eyeko's Taupe Polish, Catrice Lost in Mud or Catrice From Dusk To Dawn. Application was good. The polish was a little watery at first, but it all went well in the end.

A little closeup of my ring finger:

It's just the accent to make the color pop! I really like these stickers. I got them as a freebie with an order at Veelnagels/Veelsieraden, a Dutch etailer.

Dear Michèle, Karin, Michelle and Natasja; I had a great time yesterday and I hope you did too! I'm looking forward to the next playdate (Michèle, hurry up with your date picker! ;) )

Thanks for stopping by!
