Short Post That Contains Flakies

Hi all,

A quick recent NOTD post today since I had a sucky day (when you read this, I'm talking about yesterday). It was one of those days that I wish I'd stayed in bed. Ugh. I hope today will be better, but I will be going from appointment to appointment all day and have to study in between *stress*. Anyway, I posted about OPI Merry Midnight before, so I will leave the review part out.

I finished it off with a coat of David, because I was planning on wearing this as a mani. It lasted for a week, but it was badly chipped after two days laying in bed because I didn't feel good and two days cleaning and tidying around the house.

Bonus pics because I love this polish so much..

Question: When you look back at old swatches/pictures of your nails.. Don't you just hate their shape? Ugh, I know I do.

China Glaze Visit Me In Prism

Hi all!

How are you all doing? I hope you are all fine! The working week is almost over, so we'll have a long weekend ahead of us and it seems like the weather fairies are playing along - yay! Today I have a slightly older polish for you from a 2006 Collection from China Glaze: The Kaleidoscope Collection. I wasn't really into holographic polishes and I don't like the Nfu Oh holo's, but I LOVE these Kaleidoscopes! I managed to get hold of three of them; Kaleidoscope him out, He's going in Circles and Visit me in Prism. Today I have pictures for you from the latter!

China Glaze Visit Me In Prism, three coats in sunlight. Visit me in Prism is actually more lilac than my picture shows you, as she is a very silver but slighty lilac holograpic (yes, to me this falls in the holographic category) polish. I love the holographic effect that the Kaleidoscopes have:

See that it has more lilac to it? I adore this and I'm sure I will wear it a lot in the summer.

Application was ok; the polish was a bit watery but nothing unmanagable so it went on pretty nicely. Dryingtime was good.

I will be hunting the other Kaleidoscopes down when I see them for sale somewhere.. I want them all! What do you think of the Kaleidoscopes and Visit me in Prism in particular? What's your favorite Kaleidoscope?

Thanks for stopping by!

OPI Merry Midnight

Hi all!

I hope you all survived the weekend! :) My nails even survived a game of bowling - which I lost, miserably lol. Anyway, today I have one of my favorite OPI's for you: Merry Midnight. Merry Midnight is a part of the OPI Holiday Wishes Collection of Fall/Winter 2009 and this was one of the shades that made polishaddicts go crazy; it wasn't easy for me to find this one but I'm ever so glad I did!

OPI Merry Midnight, two coats over Color Club Electronica (which I will post about soon) in daylight. Since I couldn't get my hands still, these are pretty crappy pictures.. Anyway, Merry Midnight is a gorgeous warm and deep shade of purple with tiny pieces of glitter and flakies. OPI did flakies *squeeeeee*! Flakies, you said? Yes! Let's take a closer look:

Application was good, I didn't have any problems since the polish went on very smoothly. I wore this for a little over three days and I only took it off because I wanted to change my manicure; I didn't have any chips, just the tiniest bit of tipwear.

What do you think of Merry Midnight? Do you think OPI did well with this flakie polish?

China Glaze Blk-Bila-Bong

Hi all!

Have you enjoyed your Queensday? The weather wasn't great but we had a nice day, hope you did too! Today I have China Glaze's Blk-Bila-Bong for you. Blk-Bila-Bong is a part of the 2007 Surf Collection. I managed to get hold of a bottle a couple of months ago and it's about time I show it to you.

China Glaze Blk-Bila-Bong, three coats in daylight. Blk-Bila-Bong is a blue or aqua glass flecked black polish. It's a part of the China Glaze surf collection of 2007 and it was the only dark color in this collection, but it is a true stunner. I believe this color is discontinued; it was not easy getting my hands on this polish. The blue/aqua glass fleck makes this a very interesting and pretty shade to look at. I love dark colors, but I rarely wear black because it's just a little too dark for me. The glass fleck in this is truly gorgeous and this is gonna be a new favorite of mine!

Application was good. The first coat went on a little watery, but all was well in two coats. Of course, I have to deal with macro, so I did three to avoid showing VNL. Dyring time was good as well! It dried pretty quickly, considering I applied three coats.

I made a closeup as well, for you to see the blue/aqua glass fleck:

Ain't that gorgeous? What do you think of Blk-Bila-Bong? What's your favorite older China Glaze polish?

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS: There's a little contest coming up at Nailswatches somewhere next week! Stay tuned for details :)

China Glaze Chrystal Ball

Hi all!

It's a quicky today, so I have more pics than words lol! Today I have China Glaze Chrystal Ball for you. I've been lemming Grape Crush ever since I saw it on MUA and Chrystal Ball has a similar finish so when I saw this one for sale, I grabbed it. It's discontinued, but I don't know when (Will look into that!). On to the pics!

China Glaze Chrystall Ball, three coats in daylight. Chrystal Ball is a medium soft red with holographic particles in the polish. Nice! I really like this finish. It dries a bit gritty though as you can see, so you'll need some topcoat to make her smooth and more shiny. Application on this one was great, as was the drying time. It dried so quickly!

Please note that you can see different colors in the holo particles irl! My camera didn't capture the effect on the nails, but you can see it in the bottle.

I will be searching for Grape Crush, but in the meantime, I'll enjoy myself with Crystal Ball. What do you think of this polish?

Thanks for stopping by!

Orly Satin Hues - Satin Passion

Hi all!

It's weekend!! What are your plans? Today I have a polish from an old line of Orly: Satin Passion. This polish is a part of the Satin Hues Collection, which was discontinued a while ago. When I saw her for sale, I knew I had to have her!

Satin Passion, twee laagjes in daglicht.

Satin Passion, two coats in daylight. Satin Passion is a gorgeous red polish with satin finish. She isn't completely matte, but has some kind of shine over her. Very, very pretty. Application and drying time were good. Handling the brush was a bit of an experience, since it's a lot longer than the current Orly brush. The Satin Hues polishes come in bottles of 22 ml!

Satin Passion with a coat of Nubar Diamont in sunlight. Personally, I like her better without topcoat, but with the topcoat she shines. A real stunner!

And what's a mani without a little Konad? I used Konad Black Pearl and imageplate M30 for stamping. Doesn't it look cute? (Excuse me for the sunlight overcast, all my pics with Konad turned out this way..)

What do you think of Satin Passion? Do you like her better matte or shiny?

Well, this is it for today. I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Essie Sag Harbor

Hi all!

Is everyone enjoying their weekend? I know I am, so I have a relatively short post for you, though I have more than one picture to show this pretty :)

Essie Sag Harbor, three coats in daylight. Oh my! Sag Harbor is a grey polish with blue undertones and hidden shimmer. It looks a little more blue irl. It took me quite a while to get my hands on this pretty, but I finally managed to get it off eBay. Sag Harbor is a part of the Essie Nortfork Collection of fall 2009 and this was a Limited Edition. I'm still trying to get my hands on Greenport, no luck yet with this one.. Anyway, Sag Harbor is truly gorgeous. I love this polish and when I'm can, I will certainly buy myself a backup bottle. Application was a bit streaky with the first coat, but this evened out while I applied the second coat. I'm merely doing three coats because of habit, because I don't think she need three coats to gain opacity (two is fine). I love this polish so much that I couldn't bare to put Konad on her!

Thanks for stopping by!

Essence All Access

I've been wanting to post this a while ago, but I've been exhausted all week because I began swimming last monday. I am not in shape, far from being in shape actually, so it's quite exhausting to be swimming 60 x 25 meters. The smell of the poolwater makes me sleepy and doesn't really motivate me to polish my nails. I apolagize! I will make it up to you, because I have some posts ready for you.

Essence All Access, twee laagjes in daglicht.

Essence All Access, two coats in daylight. This is a gorgeous dark green shimmer. Irl she is even prettier than my picture shows you! I am really disappointed in Essence for discontinuing this polish! *gives Essence the evil eye*

Kijk nou! Dit is toch prachtig?

Look at this! Is this gorgeous or what? I bought myself a backup bottle today..

I wanted to use this post to thank Romika for tagging me with the Cute Blog Award! I will give it a nice little spot in a seperate post when I have time for it :)

Also, I'm preparing a giveaway, which will take place somewhere in March.

Thanks for stopping by!

OPI Vould U Like a Lick-tenstein?

opi vould you like a lick-tenstein? red nail polish shimmer gold nailswatches

Today I'm wearing one of the polishes Gerti sent to me last week: OPI's Vould U Like a Lick-tenstein?. The base of this polish is an orangy red, but it also has some bronze-ish hints to it and holds a very pretty golden shimmer. The pics are clickable!

opi vould you like a lick-tenstein? red nail polish shimmer gold nailswatches

The first picture is taken in daylight, the second picture is taken indoors with flash.

In some lights it looks like this is a jelly, but it's not. This is two coats btw, no topcoat. I believe this is an old OPI formula. The polish itselfs smells really bad, almost as bad as my SV, but the bottle holds a thin brush (yay!) and VULAL dries quicker than my other OPI's. The polish is just a teenie bit brush strokey, but that's not really noticable.

opi vould you like a lick-tenstein red nail polish shimmer gold nailswatches

This picture shows what I mean with jelly. The picture also shows the golden shimmer in it, which makes the polish so pretty.

Thanks again Gerti, you made me one happy gal!

Random Act of Kindness, how sweet!

opi hoodoo voodoo?! pink nail polish vould you like a lick-tenstein? red golden shimmer opi nail polish RAOK nailswatches
Look at what the mailman just brought me!

Je ziet het goed, dit zijn Hoodoo Voodoo?! en Vould U like a Lick-tenstein?. Hoodoo Voodoo?! Gerti, nogmaals onwijs bedankt! Ik ben er heel erg blij mee.

You see this right, these are Hoodoo Voodoo?! and Vould U like a Lick-tenstein?. Hoodoo Voodoo?! was originally released in the OPI Winter Resort Collection of 1995 and is a dark pink, almost berry toned polish. The polish is discontinued, so if you like it I'd buy it now before it's out of stock everywhere. Vould U like a Lick-tenstein? was originally released in the European Collection of 2002 and is red with golden shimmer. The color is quite hard to describe, since it's not your standard red. Anyway, I'm really happy I have these polishes right now! I got them from Gerti, who didn't want anything back for these. Thanks again Gerti! You really made me happy :) .
