Hey everyone,
Just a quick post to let you know I added more polishes to the blogsale. They are marked in red in the blogsale post, but here's a list of what I added today:
Diamond cosmetics Cotton Candy
Diamond Cosmetics Hi Ho Silver
Diamond Cosmetics Monarch Masquerade
Essence Louise
Essence Spicy (old, brown creme)
Essence Spicy (new, brown shimmer)
LA Girl Rockstar Overdose
LA Girl Rockstar Paparazzi
Models Own Slate Green
Sally Hansen Going Green
Sally Hansen Wet Cement
Wet n Wild Rain Check
Wet n Wild Wild Orchid
I added a ton more polishes already on May 10th, so I'd say there are around 30 - 40 polishes more for sale now than when the post went up.
Also, if you are in Europe and want the polishes to be shipped out in a bubblemailer, I can now send them out without interference of the post office (so they don't weigh it and try to fit it in a too small letter box thingie). So that will save a lot on shipping! I have edited that in the blogsale post as well.
The blogsale post can be found »» here ««
Thanks for visiting!
PS: had some hectic time here with my sisters illness, so I haven't been around much - so no NOTDs and stuff (I'm actually wearing a very chipped mani - I'm sorta ashamed of myself). She's getting better now so I should have some time to take pics, edit them and post them on the blog. I'll be back soon :) x

Another update and a blog sale announcement!
Hi all,
So I know I promised that I would post and do a blog sale but there's been so much going on in my life that I haven't had the time right now. My sister was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, which is an inflammatory bowel disease similar to Crohn's disease. Basically, her colon is chronically inflamed/infected or however you call it. It's chronical, so she has to take meds for probably the rest of her life. It's a nasty disease, but after 5 years (!) of wondering what was wrong with her, we finally got a diagnosis on her disease after 6 weeks of going to the hospital and seeing specialists, drawing blood and getting a small procedure done.
When I'm writing this, she is in the hospital to undergo a blood transfusion. Her values were so low that her specialist wasn't surprised that she fainted and is tired all the time, that she was scheduled for an 'emergency' transfusion, meaning she's now getting bags of blood. I'm not allowed in there during the transfusion, which is why I'm doing this now, at home, so I can take my mind of what's going on there.
I've been worried sick about her and I've been her 'personal assistant' (for a lack of a better word) for the last 2 to 3 weeks. It's tough learning to deal with this, even for us, but I really think her life will be easier now, mostly thanks to the specialist that she now has who FINALLY takes her complaints seriously.
Anyhow, on a more blog related note: I've been sorting through the plastic boxes that I store my helmer-overflowing polishes in, and I've come to the conclusion that two of those boxes contain a ton of polishes that I'll never use (and never have used to begin with). I also realized that I haven't done anything with my swap box in months, so I'm putting most of those up for sale as well. Yes, you read that right, I'm going to be holding a massive blog sale. It's mostly nail polish, however I also have some Lush stuff that's going to waste and some other products that I'd like to sell. It's taking up so much room, and honestly, I can use the money! :)
So I will be putting the post up for my blog sale later today (probably around 21.00 GMT + 01.00). I haven't taken pictures of the bottles, because that would take me an extra day to prepare the post, so I will post a list of the polishes. Usage will be stated behind the name of the polish, but all of the polishes are either BN or used one time.
It'll be first come, first serve, so if you want something from the list, be there in time :)
I'll post again tonight!
Hope you guys are all doing great!

Update
Hi everyone,
It's been a couple of weeks since my last post and I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent me an email, message or posted a comment on that post. It made me cry that there are so many sweet people out there - even though we may not know eachother. It made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and for that I say a BIG thank you *sends hugs*.
It's going a little better lately. I guess the weather helps; 20 C and days filled with sunshine are definitely getting my mood up. I'm still applying for jobs without luck, but I guess I will have to keep trying, so I will. It's just hard, but I'm sure it will work out.
So.. What have I been doing besides filling in job applications and absorbing sunshine? I've been working on another little project besides this blog. It's helped me to talk about what's on my mind in relation to what I've heard or read lately. That's a little cryptical, I know, but I will let you know what it is when I feel good about telling the world (which it sorta is, of course). Also, I've been working on answering my emails; I think everyone has gotten a reply (if not, PLEASE send me a reminder. I had so many emails that I didn't know where to start).
I've been in contact with different companies and hopefully I will be able to tell you what we've been discussing soon :) I think it's cool!
Also, I've been cleaning. A lot. I've almost completely redone my room, so I think IKEA's profits went up a little more. I spent a lot of time there looking at furniture - I needed a new bed and closet - and put those together with a little help from my dad. But before I could do that, I had to thouroughly clean my room and get rid of the junk. I didn't even know I had that much stuff! I'm currently working on my desk, since my room itself is done (and it's pretty darn awesome if you ask me).
In my free time.. I've been reading. A lot. Like, crazy amounts of books. I discovered that I'm not really into the kind of books that is considered literature, so I've been reading different kinds of books. It was (and is) my way of escaping the world around me. Because unfortunately, not everyone sees that I'm trying really hard to find a job. That I practically do the household on my own, except the cooking. That I would rather have a job and spend my time outside the house and make some money. So I read to escape. For me, it's a wonderful feeling. I love to read.
The reading has made me calm and somehow it made me organized as well (must have been because I had to be creative to fit all my books on their shelves) so I started cleaning and organizing and now my life is a little easier.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Sometimes typing these kind of posts just feel like pouring your heart out in a diary. It's lifting a weight of my shoulders :)
I'm working on coming back, I really am. Hopefully I can post some old material later this month, because my backlog is huge. I will post a new post somewhere between today and Sunday next week to put stuff up for sale (besides the stuff that is still up for sale on my Blogsale page). Because I have a lot of nail polish and even makeup that I've never used and honestly, I could use some extra money.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for being so patient with me, it really means a lot. You are the best readers I could have wished for. Thank you.

On a personal note
Hi everyone,
It's been a while since I've updated. I told you I wasn't feeling well, and I'm still recovering. I haven't been really open about what's going on with me, so I decided it's about time - so hopefully you'll understand what I'm going through. If you don't want to know about my life, or can't stand emotional misery, this is the moment for you to click away.
If you've been following my blog since last year, you probably know that I had mono and a car accident that caused a concussion that wasn't treated, and lead to concentration problems that made me unable to function at my job. After that, I was able to recover and work more hours. Even though my employer told me I was doing good, and so did my coworkers, one day before term of notice, they told me that I had that day to round up my work and leave. That was a total shock for me.
So I sat at home. You can probably imagine how boring it was to be at home for a month, just trying to look for jobs. My boyfriend urged me to apply for different functions, and so I did. I didn't even get invited to do an interview. I also suffered from signs of depression after mono and losing my job, but when my boyfriend decided to end our relationship of 3,5 years, I was devastated. I laid on the couch just bawling my eyes out for three weeks. After that, I was taken on holiday for a week by my parents and after that by Michelle and Michèle. Both did great things for me - it distracted me from my misery and in both weeks I really had a great time.
I was kind of okay for a while, until I got hit by the hammer in September. My mood worsened and I didn't want to be around people anymore. This was the reason that many of my friends dropped me. I can't blame them, really, because I didn't have the energy or the will to keep up the contact and everything. I just wanted to be left alone so I could deal with my pain. Some people will say that it's just heartbreak and it'll take a little time to get over it, but it was more for me. It was losing the life I had. I lost my health, job, cat, boyfriend and friends. It was a major setback because I was just trying to get it all together again. My boyfriend was not only my partner, he was my best friend, someone I could talk to about everything. Every weekend that I went to his place was something I really looked forward to - mostly because things at my place weren't going so well.
I miss everyone I had around me in the last couple of years. I really do. But they made it clear that they don't want to invest any more time in our relationship because they feel I should just suck it up and get on with my life. I just can't. I can't pretend nothing happened. And this hurts. A lot. It makes it harder for me to go on with my life, because I'm more or less on my own. I will get there, sure, but it's going to take a lot of time. I know that now. It's been almost 9 months since my relationship ended and I still have so much trouble thinking about it and giving it a place.
I hope you'll understand that I'm not ready to take up blogging again. Maybe I'll update again in the next couple of weeks, even though it's only one post - I still wear nail polish and I have a backlog that would probably take care of posts up until May. But I don't feel like blogging. I feel like I should get everything straight before I continue with my blog. But at this moment, I'm still looking and applying for jobs. On most applications, I don't even get a reply. It sucks. I graduated with good grades and they don't want me for the jobs they're offering because the function would be below my education level or whatever.
Anyway.. I have gotten a ton of emails in the last weeks/months and I'll do my best to answer every single one of them today. I'm not sure if I can manage it all in one day, but if not, expect a reply in the coming week. I'll really do my best because I sorta feel like I leave you hanging.
Thanks for all the emails and messages. It means a lot. I really hope I can pick up blogging and everything around it again, because I really miss you guys

Stampabilities # 017: OPI
Hi all,
First of all: Happy New Year! I hope you all had a nice New Years Eve and you still have all your fingers :)
This weeks Stampabilities consists of similar colors instead of different colors.
Stampabilities 017: OPI with from pinkie to index Malaga Wine, Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not, Overexposed in South Beach and Purple-Opolis. I decided to do similar colors this time, to see if you would be able to compare which one you'd better pick for stamping! Three of them are purple, the fourth - Malaga Wine - is a red jelly. Again, they all show up nicely, but in this edition of Stampabilitites, Malaga Wine stands out in my opinion. It's the most pigmented in terms of stamping, which I found surprising, since it's a jelly.
If you have suggestions for the upcoming editions of Stampabilities, please let me know! You can leave a comment on this post, but you can also send me an email.
And now something completely different. You may have noticed (or not, of course) that I'm not on Twitter anymore and I haven't updated my blog in a couple of days. I'm not feeling very well at the moment and I'm on the verge of having a breakdown, so I'm also using this post to tell you that I'm taking some time off of blogging and being online in general. I don't know how long that'll be, but I expect to be 'gone' for at least a week and a half to straighten things out. Let's just say 2010 was a sucky year for me and it has taken it's toll. I want 2011 to be better, so I'll have to work at that and start off with a decent base.
I hope I will be able to pick up blogging again after that. I hope you understand. I have scheduled some posts for the next couple of days and next week's Stampabilities, so you will still have something to read while I'm taking my break.
I wish you all a very happy new year and hope 2011 brings you love, happiness and health.

And The Winner is.. And Some Tips For Nailswatches!
Hi all!
It took a little longer than I said, but I hope you'll forgive me.. Since I asked you to fill in some things in the giveaway form, I asked my sister to help me and pick the winner, so your answers would be taken into consideration (because nice/good/funny/cute answers are always a plus!). Let me make it clear that my sister has less than nothing to do with the nail polish community. She doesn't like my np (to put it lightly) so I was very thankful that she agreed to pick a winner. She doesn't know anyone that is active within the nail polish community but me, so she couldn't possibly have favored anyone. And I really hope everyone will remember to follow publicly next time so I don't have to exclude you from entering..
Having said that, let's get to it.. The winner of OPI Damone Roberts 1968 is...

Martje! She had to share this in the "Rave or rant, or just babble a bit!" section of the form:
I just want to have a major rant about the Kruitvat in town ggrrr they always stock up the latest editions very very late...which result in sold out immediatly and most of the time I`m too late to participate in those...even though I try visit them every day!! ( my work is in the same street) Ssooo I want to have a metallics collection polish :S But I`ve been viting the store for 1,5 week each day, and still they don`t have it, nor can they tell me anything and specially they are not willing to put some aside for me. Boehoee!! If they don`t have it by Monday I`m gonna make a complaint on their website! :) that was my rant, thnx for letting me haha
That's so sad! Our Kruidvat only got one bottle left when I came there, tops.. I totally know what you mean! Congratulations on winning a bottle of pretty! I'll email you for your address, please reply to this email within 48 hours :)
I also asked you if you had any tips to make Nailswatches better. I got a whole lot of compliments, so thank you for that! You all made me turn scarlet! Some of the tips I got that I will try and work on (or pay more attention to):
- Nailart (and tutorials)
- Comparisons
- Konadicures
- Marbles
- NOTD's
I also got a couple of tips/comments on more personal stuff and I was asked to show my picture on the webz.. I don't think I'm ready for that, I like to be somewhat anonymus to be honest.. But what I will do is to try and make it a bit more personal on some levels.
A massive THANK YOU to all of you who participated in my giveaway and of course for reading my blog. I can't say this enough, but it really means a lot to me!
I wish you all a nice Friday and a great start of your weekend! :)

It's Nailswatches' Birthday!
Hi all!
It's exactly a year ago that I went over to Nailswatches on blogger *yaaaay*! Which means that today is Nailswatches' birthday! I can't believe I've lasted a whole year with blogging.. On to the next year! As a treat, hot chocolate with whipped cream for everyone! ;) (or of course chocolate cake... hmm!)
Hot chocolate and whipped cream watermarble with OPI Suzi Says Da! and BarryM Matt White. I swear I only used those two colors (over a white base), the colors combined to an almost purple shade in between the colors! I love the outcome of it. It might not be perfect, but it sure is pretty in my eyes.
Bonuspicture! *walks round with a plate of mugs with hot chocolate and whipped cream* hehe! I really like this marble. I never thought it would turn out the way it did, but I love it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and buy myself some *real* chocolate cake to celebrate ;) Hope you all have a very nice Friday!

Zoya Robyn
Hi all,
A while ago, I bought some polishes from Angie and she put this polish in as an extra. How sweet!! This isn't a color I would have picked out myself, but after trying it, I have to say: I really like it!
Zoya Robyn, three coats in daylight. Robyn is a bright blue creme. It works really good with my skintone, it really pops. I can see this being an awesome base for nailart, too.
Application was good. The polish was opaque in three easy coats. I did mess it up a bit on one finger, but that was my own fault lol. The polish dried quickly as well.
I wanna have some nice weather around here so I can feel like wearing this color! It felt a bit odd when I put it on, being all grey and rainy outside. But it's definitely a winner for me. Thanks Ange!
Andddd I just saw that I reached 650 followers! Jeez! I never would have thought that I would make it to 50 followers (hell, having 5 followers made me jump up and down), let alone 650. Thank you so much for visiting my little blog. I know I haven't been around that much the last couple of months and that I wasn't really a nice person when I was (most of the time). Even though the sun isn't shining anymore outside, I'm starting to feel a little better and my mood is lifting, step by step. I want to say thank you to all of you who have sent me messages and emails. They mean a lot to me. *takes out the tissues*
Thank you.

Happy Birthday To Me! And The Harry Potter Nailart Contest
Hi all!
Yaaaay today's my birthday! *throws confetti and cuts up the cake* and since it's my birthday, I can do whatever I like! *giggles*

I think you know that the Harry Potter series is my favorite series ever, and that I'm a fan. For my birthday I thought it would be fun to host a new nailart contest with the theme of 'Harry Potter'! The idea is to make a design on the nails on your own hand (no wheels or tips please) that has something to do with Harry Potter. You're allowed to do anything that relates to Harry - both the books and the films. You can think of characters, but you can also think of dark creatures, magical sports, Hogwarts or magic in general. Any kind of nailart is allowed, so you can use (for example) acrylic paint, strass, dots, gems, decals, liners, anything you like! Surprise me :D
You can send in two different designs per person. Please email your entries to nailswatches@gmail.com and include the name you want to post me and (if you want) what you used to do this manicure. You can also tell me a little bit about the idea for your design - but keep it short so it won't be a whole lot of text when I'm posting your entries ;)
There is a rule though: you cannot share your design on your blog, twitter, facebook or whatever until I post your entries on my blog. I hope you will respect this, since I would like to have everyones design showed for the first time when the voting begins!
You can submit your entries till September 17th, 2010. I will post your entries after that, so the voting can begin.
I will show bits of the prize along the way ;)
I think I will be off to eat some birthday noms now :D Hope you have a nice day!

Zoya Charla And Holiday Announcement
Hi all!
Today I have Zoya Charla for you from the Sparkle Collection for 2010. Most people I know think this is the stunner of the collection. I disagree, Ivanka is way prettier in my opinion, but Charla sure is pretty!

Zoya Charla, three coats in daylight. Charla is a blue green glass flecked polish. It flashes a bit of gold and is more green than my pictures show it, but it's really really gorgeous. I am actually wearing this on my toes right now :D
Application is good. The polish is a little on the thin side, so I needed three coats for opacity but my pictures still show a little visible nail line. Drying time is good.
Such a lovely sparkle must be mattified.
Zoya Charla, three coats with one coat of Essie Matte About You in daylight. Whoa, me likey!
I also want to tell you that in exactly 12 hours time, I will be on a plane to Spain. I have prepared posts that will be posted automatically, so you won't have to miss daily posts. These will be a little shorter than you are used to though.. However, because I'm on a holiday, I will not be able to come online and answer any of your comments, questions or emails. I can't respond to any messages about my blogsale either, so please bear with me. I will try to be up and running as soon as possible when I get back, but in the meantime I hope you'll have patience with me :)
For those of you who will go on a holiday soon, I hope you have a great holiday! And thank you all for your understanding :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Blogsale

It's time for a little blogsale! I added a tab just underneath my header where you can find the polishes I'm tossing out of my Helmer. I will be adding more pictures when I decide to sell more polishes - my Helmer is in desperate need of some room since it's FULL. I actually have a bag of polishes next to my Helmer, because they won't fit anymore.. Whoops!

It's A Sad Day Today
Hi all,
Today is a sad day. Our 16 year old cat was put to sleep today by the vet. The poor thing was ill for the last couple of months and we tried every possible treatment for the sneezing disease that he was diagnosed with, but today we discovered that it wasn't the real thing that was going on. Our little man had a tumor in his little head that caused chronic nose bleeds and because of the bleeding, he got weaker every day. It's better for him this way, but it's so, so sad to lose the pal I've had for 16 years.
Rest in peace, Mistie, my dear little nerdy friend.
I was planning on doing a happy mani today because I launched my new blog layout, but I decided to do something a little less festive for today.

Diamond Cosmetics Cherry Tobacco, two coats in daylight. Cherry Tobacco is a vampy brown with glowing shimmer and it screams fall to me.
Application was good, no problems with drying time either so I was pleasantly surprised since this was one of those polishes that was sitting in my Helmer since like forever. And if it feels like fall.. We'll put some fall on the nails.
Diamond Cosmetics Cherry Tobacco stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM04 and China Glaze Millennium. Millennium works really really well on these kind of shades and I just love the contrast between the brown and the silver.
A Closeup of Cherry Tobacco stamped with Millennium.
These kind of manicures just fascinate me although there isn't even glitter, holo or duochrome to keep me satisfied..
Thanks for stopping by

New Layout!
Hi all!
It's finally there, my new blog layout! As you can see, I decided to do something completely different and thanks to Michèle's help I finally put it together today :)

There are changes in color (obviously), but also in the setup of this layout. I now have seperate tabs for different pages and I will be adding one or two more tabs in the next couple of days.
Also, I also added Formspring to my blog. Feel free to ask me anything!
There are a ton of changes behind the scenes, which you will probably not even notice but those changes will make me easier to find through google and such.
Feel free to say what you think of my new blog layout by commenting on this post :)

Welkom!
Welcome to my blog! I couldn't figure out how this blog worked, so I started one at the Dutch weblogpage web-log.nl. My blog about nails and stuff has been up since November 1st and I really enjoy writing about my nails. I decided to start over on this blog since I know how to work with it. I love nail polish and everything that has something to do with nails, so I've got a lot to talk about!
I will post my older posts from my other weblog here. After that I will be posting all my stuff here.
Thanks for stopping by!
