Essie Lapis Of Luxury

Hi all!

Essie launched their Resort Collection this year and I picked up a few pretties. I couldn't leave Lapis Of Luxury out! Let's take a look at the blue of this collection.

essie resort collection summer 2010 lapis of luxury pastel blue creme nailpolish nailswatchesEssie Lapis Of Luxury, three coats in daylight. Lapis Of Luxury is a pastel-ish light blue creme. In my eye, it's not a true pastel, but it's not a true light blue either. It's somewhere in between. I feel a little hint of periwinkle in there somewhere too..

It's such a soothing color. It's one of those colors that would never look boring on my nails, not to me at least.

Application was good. The Essie brush is a little thin for my liking, but easy to work with. The polish went on a bit streaky at the first coat, but all evened out in three coats to opacity. Drying time was good - the polish was dry when I took pictures of it.

Since I love the combination between these kind of colors and silver, I did a little stamping.

M73 still has my favorite design and I use it when I can :) I love the contrast in these, although it would have looked even better when Lapis Of Luxury was a tad darker.

Paint Splatters Everywhere

Hi all!

Today I have something for you that I LOVE so much that I can't make myself to take it off.

china glaze konadicure konad nailart nailswatches khrome romantique collection stamping m21 imageplate white cremeTwo coats of H&M Love At First Sight, a white creme, stamped with China Glaze Joy, Harmony, Cherish and Adore with Konad imageplate M21. The Romantiques are awesome for stamping and their contrast with the white base is great. I stamped the splatters randomly on my nails, trying to do a variety in colors on my nails.

What do you think of this Konadicure?

Essie Chinchilly

Hi all!

Today I have a NOTD for you that I did when I was in a hurry last week, so I didn't have time to cleanup. I had this polish for a while and just didn't wear it untill a couple of days ago.. Anyway, on to some pics :)

Essie ChinchillyEssie ChinchillyEssie Chinchilly, two coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont in daylight. The second picture is a little more color accurate since the first one makes Chinchilly look more washed out than the color really is.. Chinchilly is a weird color; it's no taupe, it's no grey and it's no purple, but it has something from all three. I'd say it's a khaki creme, I think. It's a really odd color and I don't like it on me. I think it's because my skin has yellow undertones and that doesn't work well with this color.

Application on this was great, no problems whatsoever. Drying time was good as well, so no complaints there, only on the color. I did a little Konad to spice things up a bit and it improved my mani a bit.

The blue chrome works pretty well with the blubbery color of Chinchilly! A closeup to show the design better:

Models Own Gun Grey

Hi all!

A relatively short post today! I still have to swatch a few of my Models Own polishes, so here's another one for you :)

Models Own Gun GreyModels Own Gun Grey, two coats in daylight. The name really says it all; it's a gun grey polish. In my eyes, it truly looks like a gun grey polish since it has the perfect color for it and the finish is somewhere between metallic and frost. Only two coats for opacity, but one would have been sufficient if I used a thicker coat.

Models Own polishes are not B3F (toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthalate free) so this polish smells a bit, but application is fine and drying time was perfect. Models Own polishes can be bought at www.modelsownit.com and they do ship internationally, but please keep in mind they have a GBP 30 minimum for purchase.

Kitty Ate All The Fish

Hi all!

So today I have a konadicure for you! Well it's not really Konad, but it's stamping alright :) I only have half of my Bundle Monster plates, but these are already a lot of fun.

I used OPI Princesses Rule! as a basecolor (two coats) and stamped it with Konad Special polish in Black Pearl and China Glaze Awaken. I used Bundle Monster imageplate BM04 for the images. From The Vault: Zoya Yasmeen

Hi all!

Due to lack of time, I haven't been able to swatch ANYTHING the last one and a half weeks.. So I have something a little older for you. Zoya Yasmeen was one of my latest acquirements and I love it so much. Can you see why?

Zoya Yasmeen, I believe this was three coats. This picture is taken under artificial lighting, but in my opinion this shows you the true color of Yasmeen - my pictures taken by daylight show here way too blue. Yasmeen has a gorgeous shimmer to her, that colors both pink and gold. Stunning! I'm really curious to see how she looks matte.. Why do I think of that just now?? I stamped her with imageplate M21 and China Glaze Millennium.

Application was good, the polish went on smoothly. It did clash with Nubar Diamont though - as you can see it gave me major shrinkage *sigh*. I might try another topcoat to prevent that the next time I wear her :)

I won't be posting in the next couple of days since I will be out all weekend. I will be resuming normal posting on tuesday.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend :)

China Glaze Konadicure

Hi all!

So yesterday I showed you China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic and today I will show you the Konadicure that I planned on swatching only, but ended up wearing for three days.

China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic stamped with China Glaze Adore and imageplate M73. I labeled this totally wrong when I saved it.. Lol. Anyway I loooooove this combination and I wore this to work today and will do again tomorrow. Let's take a closer look *zooms in*

Ain't that pretty? Somehow these pictures show the greenness of Rodeo Fanatic better than the pics I showed you yesterday.. Weird.

Do you like this Konadicure? Would you be able to wear something like this to work?

And a little reminder before I say bye: don't forget to enter my nailart contest, which ends May 22nd!
