Misa Dirty Sexy Money

Hi all,

I always thought that I already showed you this, but it turns out that I've only posted comparisons with this pretty.. Shame on me! Here she is: Misa Dirty Sexy Money.

living on the fast lane collection spring 2009 misa dirty sexy money dsm slate green dusty creme nail polish nailswatchesMisa Dirty Sexy Money, two coats in daylight. Dirty Sexy Money is a gorgeous dusty slate green with a hint of blue, making it not your typical color. I love it! It's so awesome.

Application was great - the polish went on smoothly, like butter! Misa's usually dry really quick on me too and this one was no exception.

For a while, Dirty Sexy Money was hard to find, but you can now easily buy it directly from Misa's website for $ 7.50, so it should be available with other sellers as well.

Orbis Non Sufficit Stripes

Hi all,

A quick and easy but fun mani for you. I showed you RBL's Orbis Non Sufficit last week and it was such a nice color, so I decided to wear it a little longer. I gave it a little twist by putting stripes on the polish and I really like the result!

RBL Orbis Non Sufficit, two coats, striped with China Glaze Ink. Ink has a striper brush which is really thin. It makes it really easy to draw some stripes, although mine are not perfect because I don't have a steady hand at all.

It's so easy to do and in my opinion, it can spice up your manicure. I like the combination! What are your 'spice up the mani' tricks? Please share!

RBL Orbis Non Sufficit

Hi all,

Not much news from my side, went out of the house yesterday evening and it helped me a little to be starting putting things together. I hope I can get my head organized in the next couple of days, so I'm still asking you for your patience. How are you all doing?

Today I have one of the polishes for you that I got at the 50% off sale at Rescue Beauty Lounge last year and it's called Orbis Non Sufficit, which means The world is not enough. Orbis Non Sufficit is part of the limited edition Blogger collection for fall 2009 and I was lucky enough to grab myself a bottle.

Orbis Non Sufficit is a gorgeous dusty green creme. You know I like dusty colors, and I love this particular one. It looks so deep and mossy..

The formula on this one was pretty good, a little on the thick side maybe, but the polish is very pigmented so that makes up for a bit of it. I had no problems applying this baby.

rbl rescue beauty lounge ons orbis non sufficit dusty greyed out green creme blogger collection fall 2009 limited edition the polish addict nail polish nailswatchesDrying time was good. I didn't use a quickdry topcoat so it dries pretty quickly on its own. It's also shiny as hell, so that was a bit of a problem while snapping pics since you could see the entire place I was at to take pictures. Not exactly my intention! But all worked out so no biggy.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and I hope you'll enjoy your sunday :)

Buenos Dias!

Hi all!

How are you all doing? Guess who's back from holiday? Yes, it's me! Lol is has been a week filled with sun and reading just to empty my head a bit. And it did, a bit. I also need my holiday with Michelle and Michèle! Only a couple of days, yay!

Anyway, I wanted to share a NOTD from before I went to Spain. The pictures turned out a bit less than I expected because the polish was rediculously shiny, so I had the reflection of just about everything in the house pictured on my nails.

mac blue india dusty blue creme htf liberty of london collection 2010 nailpolish nailswatches swatchMAC Blue India, three coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont. Blue India is a dusty medium blue creme. Dusty! This was actually one of my biggest lemmings and I recently got it in thanks to a lovely MUA'er in a swap which contains over 20 polishes lol. I love love love the color, but I got chips in a matter of hours so that was a big disappointment. I'll try it again to see if it was just bad luck or that the wear of this polish is indeed not that good.

Application is good. The polish went on smoothly. The polish bottle is a bit wonky in my opninion, so I had a bit of issues holding the cap to polish my nails, but I think that's just me lol.

I also wanted to share the pretties I picked up while I was in Spain. We only went to one little village with one little store that had polish, so I grabbed these four.

Yes love nailpolish green blue brown pink iridiscent shimmer creme spanish brand nailswatches 402 534 526 429Yes Love 402, 534, 526 and 429. They only have numbers, and I'm not even sure about the brand, Yes Love. When I google, I can't find anything on the brand - no swatches, nothing. Help? I can't imagine that I'm the only one buying these!

That's it for now, dear reader!

Thanks for stopping by!

OCC Blackboard

Hi all!

A couple of months ago, a lovely NB'er contacted me on MUA and asked if I would like to swap. Of course I would! We both became a little enthousiastic and sent a lot of polish to the other side of the ocean. Unfortunately, the part of the swap that was supposed to arrive in The Netherlands at my address, stranded at customs and was sent back to my swappee after 2 months laying there. Thank god she received them back and she has been so kind to send them in little batches so the polishes will finally be mine!

I got the first package in last week and it contained several of my biggest lemmings, like this beauty. I've been lemming OCC Blackboard ever since I saw Scrangie's swatches but I couldn't get a hold of it since OCC couldn't ship polish overseas. But finally, after loooong looooong months, this baby is mine and I love it!

Err, anyway, let's take a look at zeh prettieh!

Application was great! It almost applied itself and since the polish is so pigmented it's almost a onecoater. If I used a thicker coat, I'm sure I wouldn't have needed the second coat. Drying time was great, dry in just a couple of minutes, without the use of a quickdry topcoat.

Flakie Festival

Hi all,

Today another shortie. I feel like I haven't slept in weeks and I'm finally getting tired after four sleepless nights so hopefully I'll be able to get some sleep and make something more out of my day. Anyway, when I showed you Sephora By OPI Blue Grotto yesterday, I wasn't really that excited. Yes, it's a pretty blue but it didn't do much for me, so I decided to top it off with Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure.

sally hansen hidden treasure flakies sephora by opi blue grotto jellySephora By OPI Blue Grotto with one coat of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure. Flakies! Yaay! This is only one coat of Hidden Treasure so it gives off a great amount of flakies in just one coat. The flakies flash orange, green, yellow and gold. The Sally Hansen brush is short and flat, so it was a bit weird at first to work with, but it all worked out in the end.

I thought it would be appropriate to post this since the flakies flash orange and gold and The Netherlands just played the semi finals and THEY WON!! Yaay!! The Dutchies will go to the final of the world cup! *small happy dance*

Sephora By OPI Blue Grotto

Hi all,

Another short one today; Sephora By OPI Blue Grotto. It's almost impossible to get $OPI's here in The Netherlands so I grabbed this one on a board sale.

sephora by opi blue grotto sopi $opiSephora By OPI Blue Grotto, three coats in daylight. Blue Grotto is a dark blue dusty jelly. It's darker and more muted though than shown in this picture. It has the same issues with photographing as OPI Dating A Royal.

sephora by opi sopi $opi blue grottoSephora By OPI Blue Grotto in indirect daylight. This one shows the color more accurately, though it's not as grey as my picture shows it.

Application was alright. The brush is long and small so it was a bit tricky to apply the polish evenly, but all smoothened out after applying the second coat. The third coat took care of eliminating the visible nail line.

Franken - Potter's Purple

Hi all!

So today I have something for you that was a gift from my friend Michelle. She made me a beautiful franken so that's what I'm going to show you today!

Potter's Purple, three coats in indirect sunlight. Do you see Michelle? I made you a label! :D Potter's purple is a medium purple, dusty holographic polish with aqua/blue colored flakies. Can you see she combined the things that I love in polish to make one awesome one? It's not too holo, just how I like it.. She even named it after my favorite book/movie series; Harry Potter. I'm a real Harry Potter nerd as you'll probably have noticed so the name suits perfectly as well :)

Let's take a look at some more pics! I took a couple, they're reflecting the process from "in the shadow" to "in full sunlight". Please click on the pictures to enlarge!

Is that gorgeous or what?!

Application was good! The polish was easy to work with and drying time was fairly quick.. I can't think of any downside of this polish! Michelle, you made me an awesome polish and I will definitely be wearing this a lot <3 Now, if you'll excuse me.. I'm off to a bit of staring at my polish in the sun ;)

OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui

Hi all!

How are you all doing? I hope you're doing better than I am.. I've been sick since sunday and I've been in bed most of the time to recover, but it didn't help as much as I wish it would have.. I'm trying to get back to daily posts, but I hope you can understand that my health is not playing along.

Today I have a nice and dusty color for you: OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui! Suzi Says Feng Shui is part of the 2010 Hong Kong Collection that was released earlier this year.

OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, two coats in daylight. Suzi Says Feng Shui is a dusty mudium blue creme. I love dusties, so this one is no exception!

Application was great. The polish was exactly the right structure for me; not too thick or too thin. I'm really getting used to the ProWide brush so I guess that helps a lot as well! Drying time was good since the polish dried quickly after application.

This was all for now, dear reader. I wish you all a very nice day and thanks for stopping by!

Illamasqua Wink

Hi all!

How are you all today? Last workingday of the week, on to the weekend! Today I have a polish for you that I got in an amazing swap with Laquermanic, almost two weeks ago. She surprised me with very pretty polishes! I am actually wearing this polish for the second time in two weeks. Yes, you got that right! Well, on to the pics so you can see why I like this so much :)

Illamasqua Wink, two coats with one coat of Nubar Diamont. Wink is a gorgeous lavender colored creme. She's a tad darker than the typical lavender, but she has a bit of a dusty look to her so I really love her! The pictures above don't capture her true color, but the next one does (at least on my screen).

As you can see, she has a little more red to her than shown in the first two pics (I apologize for the crappy picture though). (Hmm, on this screen - at my boyfriend's - it looks mostly yellow? That's not what the pic looked like on my own screen! Does it look yellow on your screen? Let me know, otherwise I will try to fix it!)

Application was good. The polish is a little bit on the thick side, but noting I can't manage. The polish itself went on smooth and was relatively quick dry.

This is, hands down, my favorite pastel-ish color I own so far. It has something to it that makes her different from all other pastels out there, although she might look like "just another pastel purple/lilac/lavender" to you. As for me, I think I'm sold.

Thanks so much for sending me this dear laquermanic!

Thanks for stoppig by, dear reader!

RBL Teal

Hi all!

How are you all today? Almost weekend! Today I have a polish for you that I've tried on a little while ago; RBL Teal. I couldn't capture her beauty very well, but I'll tell you more about that later.

RBL Teal, two coats in daylight. Teal is as the name suggest; teal (wow, surprise!). The color is a little darker than the picture suggests. This was caused by the reflection of the polish. This polish is so extremely shiny! The reflections of the sky and the room I take pictures in kept showing up on my nails lol. I have like 25 pictures with myself on my nails!

Application on this one was a dream. The polish went on nice and smooth and dried pretty quickly. Since the polish is well pigmented, it may even be suitable for Konad - but I'd have to check that. The following picture shows less reflections:

I think this one is more color accurate than the first picture.

I really like this color. There are a lot of teal polishes out there, but this one is a little dusty so I guess that's why I like it so much :)

What do you think of RBL Teal?

Comparison: Models Own Slate Green vs. Misa Dirty Sexy Money

Hi all!

I got home a little late yesterday, so I couldn't upload my post anymore.. So I'll show you today what I wanted to post. I have a comparison between Models Own Slate Green and Misa Dirty Sexy Money for you today. Misa DSM is not that easy to find, so it would be nice to have a dupe handy. I decided to do a comparison with Dirty Sexy Money as soon as I got it in, which was this week.

Naast elkaar.

Side by side. In the bottles they look quite close.

And in a bigger picture

I hope you can see this, I really tried my best to get the colors right in the pictures and that wasn't easy. These colors are hard to photograph.. On my index and ring I'm wearing Misa Dirty Sexy Money, two coats, and on my middle and pinky I'm wearing two coats of Models Own Slate Green. As you can see, hopefully, these are not dupes. Dirty Sexy Money is darker and more blue in color, while Slate green is lighter and cooler. They're both dusty so I like them both a lot, although DSM is a little bit warmer. Again, these are not dupes. The application on Misa Dirty Sexy Money was way better than the application of Models Own Slate Green, but then again, I already have this Models Own polish for a couple of weeks, so maybe this polish just needs a little Restore.

The difference is clearly visible in this picture I think. On my middle finger I wear Models Own, on the other two nails I'm wearing Misa.

I hope this helps, with either killing a lemming or creating one ;)

Essie Sag Harbor

Hi all!

Is everyone enjoying their weekend? I know I am, so I have a relatively short post for you, though I have more than one picture to show this pretty :)

Essie Sag Harbor, three coats in daylight. Oh my! Sag Harbor is a grey polish with blue undertones and hidden shimmer. It looks a little more blue irl. It took me quite a while to get my hands on this pretty, but I finally managed to get it off eBay. Sag Harbor is a part of the Essie Nortfork Collection of fall 2009 and this was a Limited Edition. I'm still trying to get my hands on Greenport, no luck yet with this one.. Anyway, Sag Harbor is truly gorgeous. I love this polish and when I'm can, I will certainly buy myself a backup bottle. Application was a bit streaky with the first coat, but this evened out while I applied the second coat. I'm merely doing three coats because of habit, because I don't think she need three coats to gain opacity (two is fine). I love this polish so much that I couldn't bare to put Konad on her!

Thanks for stopping by!

Kinetics My Blue Heaven

Hi All!

Hoe was jullie dinsdag?

How was everyone's tuesday? I hope you all had a great day! I'm wearing a new polish again today: Kinetics My Blue Heaven. This polish came in the swap that the lovely Linda and I arranged and I am so glad that this polish was a part of our swap! You'll see what I mean in just a bit.

I took a whole bunch of pictures (and of course I want to show you a lot of them), so here we go!

Kinetics My Blue Heaven, drie laagjes met een laagje Nubar Diamont. Foto's genomen in daglicht.

Kinetics My Blue Heaven, three coats with one coat Nubar Diamont. Pictures were taken in daylight. My Blue Heaven is a dusty, greyish blue with purple undertone. I think you know now how much I like dusty colors, right? In the pictures she is most coloraccurate in the pictures where she looks darker. What an amazing color! In some lights she is almost purple, in other lights she is grey but mostly she is dusty blue. But she's definitely not a duochrome! This is my favorite blue, by far. GORGEOUS! I was a bit scared that application would be hard since the first coat was really watery, but she was opaque after two coats! I did three because I had two bald spots on my nails.. I wanted to go to fast ;). Drying time is fine, although I can't say too much about that since I used Nubar Diamont (I did my nails before I went swimming). Kinetics is available in Latvia only if I remember this correctly. If I'm wrong, please correct me!

She is most coloraccurate on my index (right). This is the color that matches my nails most (at least, on my screen that is). Note: this is without daylight directly hitting the nail.

Love, love, love this polish.

Thanks for stopping by!

OPI Jade Is The New Black

Again a short post today; I am not able to do a big blogpost today since I'm helping my sister inlaw move. Hopefully, I will be able to swatch later tomorrow or do some comparisons.

OPI Jade is the new Black, twee laagjes in daglicht. Jade is the new Black is een soort stoffige groen.

Jade is the new Black, two coats in daylight. She is slightly darker irl. Jade is the new Black is one of the colors that were released in OPI's Hong Kong collection in January/February of this year. She is a kind of dusty bluebased green. Maybe not dusty, but 'old' or slightly greyed. I don't know what it is, but I believe I don't own another polish that may be a dupe to Jade is the new Black. I do have a Nfu Oh in the same tone, I will do a comparison somewhere in the next week. Application was good, opacity in two coats. Drying time was good as well. I even start to get used to OPI's prowide brush lol.

That's it for today, thanks for stopping by!

Pictures of my Models Own Package Part II

Vandaag is mijn tweede pakketje met lakken van Models Own aangekomen! Twee pakketjes..

My second package with Models Own polishes arrived today! Yes, two packages.. I really took advantage of the 50% off sale lol!

Recognize any of these? :)

Tease, tease, tease!!

The blues: True Blue, Bluebelle, Betty Blue, In the Navy

The greys: Grey Day, Moody Grey, Gun Grey

The "purples": Raspberry Crush, Purple Poppy, Turkish Delight

Magenta Divine, Magenta Divine, Blue Gem

The greens: Top Turquoise, Slate Green, Green Tea (picture taken without flash)

More greens: Emerald City, Peacock Green

All pictures but one were taken with flash to be coloraccurate.

Ik heb per ongeluk twee keer Magenta Divine besteld. Oeps! Eigen schuld!
I accidentally ordered two bottles of Magenta Divine. Oops! While ordering, everything went wrong and now I have two bottles of one color. Whoops again..

Zo!
Whew! A lot of bottlepics, but I also swatched of course..

Slate Green, drie laagjes. Haha. Applicatie was prima.

Slate Green, this is three coats. This color was SO hard to capture, and still in the picture, she is a little off. Irl she's more green and not as turquoise as she appears. Slate green is a muted green, slate green, with a vintage feeling. I don't know what it is, but something in me wants me to believe that this is a very old polish/color. I like it! Application was good. After one coat I thought "Oh my", because the first coat is really watery and with no means near opacity. After two coats she's opaque! I used three to avoid that you can see uneven parts on my nails :). Drying time was good, not longer than average, maybe even a bit quicker. I'm fascinated by this color! I don't own a single polish that even comes near this color. I can't wait to wear this as a full mani, or to Konad over it, or... It gives me nailinspiration!

I will be swatching colors tomorrow and probably next week. I hope to build up a sort of Models Own swatches database, because I haven't found blogs with a lot of colors from Models Own.

Thanks for stopping by!

Are You Ready To Go To This Fancy Party?

Tonight I'm posting the last two polishes that came in the Ciaté winter pack; Velvet Tuxedo and Cocktail Dress. These aren't my least favorite polishes of the bunch, on the contrary.. I feel like I saved the best for last.

ciaté winter collection 2009/2010 cocktail dress red berry creme nail polish nailswatches

Cocktail Dress is a pinkish red or a pink that strongly leans towards red. I really have no clue how to call this color, but I think it's fascinating. This is three coats, no topcoat. She would be opaque in two coats, but I had some polish underneath my tips. I worde Iron Butterfly before I started swatching and, well, Iron Butterfly didn't want to go from underneath my tips. The polish being opaque in three coats is my fault, not from the polish itself. I posted three pictures because Cocktail Dress is one tough cookie to capture. I think the second picture is most coloraccurate, but it still is slightly off. Cocktail Dress is a happy, somewhat heavy color, but certainly no neon or nearly neon polish. This polish is gonna look lovely in the summer!

I adjusted the settings of one of the pictures a little so it's more coloraccurate. It's brighter than this picture, but colorwise it looks the same!

Velvet Tuxedo is a dark grey polish with shimmer and a slightly frosty finish. This is two coats, no topcoat. Velvet Tuxedo is a bit brush strokey. Application was as good as with the other polishes and drying time was good. I really like this one. I'm really digging the dark polishes so this one is no exeption. Velvet Tuxedo looks dupish to P2 Spacy though. I will do a comparison soon :).

So here's what I think of all eight polishes! I loved most of them, with the exeption of Ladylike Luxe, since she didn't look good on me. I really loved the colors; they were well pigmented. All polishes were opaque in two coats. Application was good with all of these, only Ladylike Luxe gave a bit of problem since she didn't dry too well. I really like all of them and to be honest, I didn't think they'd be as good as they are. I didn't hear of the brand until I read about Ciaté on MUA and placed my first order. I'm glad I did!

Thank you for reading all of my posts about Ciaté. What do you think of Cocktail Dress and Velvet Tuxedo? Did you like the polishes in the winter pack?

Thanks for stopping by!

PS: I'm getting really frustrated with Blogger atm since uploading won't work in the way I want it to. It keeps rotating my images and I don't like that! I will contact Blogger to solve the problem. I'm sorry for the rotated pictures!
