Ciaté Silhouette

Hi all,

Today I have a polish for you that I wore as a notd recently. I saw this over at Michèle's blog and told her I wanted it, not realizing that I was already getting it.. Haha! Anyway, here is Ciaté Silhouette.


Ciaté Silhouette, two coats with a coat of China Glaze FFWD topcoat. The polish doesn't need topcoat to be shiny! Silhouette is a gorgeous vampy red shimmer. It looks on the brown side in the bottle, but on the nail it's mostly a very vampy red.

The application on this one was great: the polish went on smoothly and was easily opaque in two coats.

Stampabilities # 008: Ciaté Pt 1

Another round of stampabilities! I think you already know the details, so here's this weeks edition: Ciaté.


Another win this week! I'm honestly impressed with the stamping abilities this week (and the last couple of weeks too). I feel like I hit the jackpot! All of them show up really good - not much to say here. Let's take a look at how they look on the nails!


Nothing changed about the visibility of these when they're stamped on the nails. They're just as noticable as they are stamped on plain white paper, which is awesome. I never thought of the Ciaté Festival Fevers as stamping polishes, but it makes sense because they are all really pigmented.


And just a little experiment; I thought I might do it like this in the future: a combined shot. Would this work, or would you like to see the seperate pics (as well)? Hmm, I will think about that haha.

Ciaté Festival Fever Couple II

Hi all!

Today I have the last of the Ciaté Festival Fever Collection for you. Not much to tell you beforehand since I posted the previous couple only two days ago, so here we go!

Ciaté Access All Areas, three coats in daylight. Access All Areas is a pretty straightforward bright coral creme with a satin finish. I dunno if it's intentional, but it sure makes the coral different from all the other corals around.

Ciaté Headliner, two coats in sunlight. Headliner is a light blue creme with a semi-satin finish. I think I might have gotten an off bottle because I haven't seen this on swatches with Headliner. It still is a pretty color though and it can be fixed with a coat of topcoat!

Application on these two was good, although the finish was (semi) satin. The brush is easy to work with and I find it easy to apply my polish right. The formula was just as the other Festival Fevers I swatched and reviewed, a little on the thick side but no problems whatsoever. Overall I'm really positive about their formula!

I like the collection, Festival Fever; summery bright colors. They're not entirely unique, but I can't say that my stash is filled with dupes of these. The colors are pretty and give you a summer feel - something that we need here in Holland with these big dark grey clouds :(

Ciaté Festival Fever Couple I

Hi all!

Today I have a couple of swatches for you that I did over a month ago and they were just lying around.. I originally planned these to go up while I was on vacay, but somehow I forgot! I don't know how that happened. Anyway, here is the first couple. I have swatched Talent Scout and Fun Fair earlier. Let's take a look!

Ciaté Mainstage, two coats in indirect daylight. Mainstage is a dark magenta creme that it bright and bold at the same time. Imagine this a tad darker please.. I like these kind of pinks! Completely opaque in two coats.

Ciaté Ditch The Heels, three coats in daylight. Ditch The Heels is a bright green creme with a hint of blue. I wouldn't call this a neon, but it is bright! My camera makes it look a bit washed out, but it's not. Application was alright; the polish was a bit on the thick side but I still needed three coats for opacity.

Ciatés brushes are easy to work with; they're a tad wider than the regular polish brush, but smaller than the OPI ProWide brush. Ditch The Heels was a bit on the thick side formula wise, but I didn't have any problems with mainstage.

Kiko Sparkle Touch

Hi all!

I just realized I didn't even post this one, even though I wore it a couple of weeks ago; shame on me! This is one of the polishes that I picked up when we went polish hunting in Germany. I believe it only has a number, but since there's a sticker on the cap saying 'sparkle touch', I decided to call this post that way :P

Kiko #2 Sparkle Touch, two coats over Ciaté Fun Fair in daylight. Kiko #2 Sparkle Touch is a glitter topper in a clear base that's packed with hex glitter and a few smaller particles. The glitters remind me of fish scales or something.. They flash between pink and aqua, which is kinda cool. I have to add that this looks a bit dull in my pic and it looks way more sparkly irl. It's to sheer to use alone, but could just spice up a slightly boring mani..

Application was good and I didn't have any issues with the drying time. Kiko polishes are available in Italy and in Kiko stores. I believe I only paid € 1,90 for a bottle of 11ml so that's a great deal! I picked up another Kiko that I will be showing you soon as well :)

Ciaté Talent Scout

Hi all!

How are you all today? Today I have one of the new Ciaté polishes for you again: Talent Scout.

Ciaté Talent Scout, two coats under artificial light. Talent Scout is a medium purple creme. It's an easy going color, I don't know how else to describe it. Somehow it calms me a bit.. This is two coats, but it's not completely evened out so I could have used a third coat to smoothen things out a bit.

Application was good. I never really have problems with these Ciaté polishes.. The only thing I wasn't too pleased about is the fact that the polish isn't really smooth, even though it's perfectly opaque in two coats. Drying time was good, so no complaints on that matter!

Ciaté Fun Fair

Hi all!

How was your weekend? The weather wasn't so good, but I had a nice (but very busy) weekend anyway. Today I have the first of Ciaté's Summer Collection for you: Fun Fair.

Ciaté Fun Fair, three coats in daylight. Fun Fair is a light pink creme, that looks a bit brighter irl. The color is pretty pink without being a dupe for any color in my stash. The color is more accurate in the following picture:

Ciaté Fun Fair, three coats in indirect daylight. I can actually see myself wearing this in the future, even though it's pink and I'm not into pink at all lately! I might do a little konad to keep it interesting though..

The polish was a little on the thick side, so I added 4 or 5 drops of thinner and I was good to go. Application was good after that and so was drying time. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of the collection!

Something Really Pretty..

How are you all doing on this grey and rainy Saturday? I'm still a bit tired from my day with Michelle and Michèle, but it was so worth it! We scored quite a few nice things so I'm sure you'll see them soon on one of our blogs :)

Today I have a polish for you that is a little more expensive than the polish I normally buy, but the minute I saw it in store, I actually already knew I had to have it. I'm not really into these LE's and I don't really get the whole Jade hunt that's been going on (as it sells for over $200 on eBay - yikes!). Anyway, without further ado... I present you: Chanel Nouvelle Vague!

Chanel Nouvelle Vague, three coats in daylight. The first picture isn't really color accurate, that's why I added the second pic. My ringfinger shows the color best. Nouvelle Vague is a pale light blue or turquoise polish with very subtle shimmer. This is three coats, but it would have been good (as in: no VNL or bumps) in two coats. Application was a little tricky since the first coat went on streaky and a little bumpy.

Nouvelle Vague is a part of the latest Chanel LE which also contains Mistral and Rivièra, but I didn't get those because, well, they're pink (and I own too many pinks already). I love love love Nouvelle Vague and I might even end up buying another bottle..

Are You Ready To Go To This Fancy Party?

Vanavond de laatste twee lakken van de Ciaté winter pack: Velvet Tuxedo en Cocktail Dress. Het zijn zeker niet mijn minst favoriete lakken van allemaal, ik heb (naar mijn mening) het beste voor het laatst bewaard.

Tonight I'm posting the last two polishes that came in the Ciaté winter pack; Velvet Tuxedo and Cocktail Dress. These aren't my least favorite polishes of the bunch, on the contrary.. I feel like I saved the best for last.




Cocktail Dress is een rozeachtige rood of een sterk rode roze. Ik heb geen idee hoe je deze kleur noemt, maar het is een prachtige fascinerende kleur. Dit is drie laagjes, geen topcoat. Bij twee laagjes zou ze al dekkend zijn, maar aangezien ik daarvoor Iron Butterfly droeg en deze restjes achterliet die ik niet wegkreeg, had ik drie laagjes nodig. Dit lag dus aan mij en niet aan de lak. Ik heb drie foto's gepost omdat ze nogal lastig was om vast te leggen. Naar mijn idee is de tweede foto het meest kleuraccuraat. Cocktail Dress is een vrolijke, vrij heftige kleur, maar zeker geen neon of bijna-neon. Deze kleur lijkt me fantastisch voor in de zomer.

Cocktail Dress is a pinkish red or a pink that strongly leans towards red. I really have no clue how to call this color, but I think it's fascinating. This is three coats, no topcoat. She would be opaque in two coats, but I had some polish underneath my tips. I worde Iron Butterfly before I started swatching and, well, Iron Butterfly didn't want to go from underneath my tips. The polish being opaque in three coats is my fault, not from the polish itself. I posted three pictures because Cocktail Dress is one tough cookie to capture. I think the second picture is most coloraccurate, but it still is slightly off. Cocktail Dress is a happy, somewhat heavy color, but certainly no neon or nearly neon polish. This polish is gonna look lovely in the summer!



I adjusted the settings of one of the pictures a little so it's more coloraccurate. It's brighter than this picture, but colorwise it looks the same!





Velvet Tuxedo is een donkergrijze lak met shimmer en een licht frosty finish. Dit is twee laagjes, zonder topcoat. De lak toont wat streepjes van het kwastje, dus als je deze lakt moet je het wel netjes doen. Applicatie was net als de andere lakken erg goed. Ik vind deze ook weer erg mooi. Ik ben de laatste tijd wel into de donkere lakken en dus doet deze het goed! Velvet Tuxedo zou wel eens een dupe kunnen zijn van P2 Spacy. Ik zal binnenkort een comparison doen :).

Velvet Tuxedo is a dark grey polish with shimmer and a slightly frosty finish. This is two coats, no topcoat. Velvet Tuxedo is a bit brush strokey. Application was as good as with the other polishes and drying time was good. I really like this one. I'm really digging the dark polishes so this one is no exeption. Velvet Tuxedo looks dupish to P2 Spacy though. I will do a comparison soon :).

So here's what I think of all eight polishes! I loved most of them, with the exeption of Ladylike Luxe, since she didn't look good on me. I really loved the colors; they were well pigmented. All polishes were opaque in two coats. Application was good with all of these, only Ladylike Luxe gave a bit of problem since she didn't dry too well. I really like all of them and to be honest, I didn't think they'd be as good as they are. I didn't hear of the brand until I read about Ciaté on MUA and placed my first order. I'm glad I did!

More Ciaté Swatches

Vandaag weer meer Ciaté swatches. Dit keer laat ik alleen lakken zien die in the winter pack zitten: Power Dressing, Stiletto en Ladylike Luxe. Waarschuwing: dit is een lange post!

Here I am with more Ciaté swatches. This time I show you three polishes that come in the winter pack; Power Dressing, Stiletto and Ladylike Luxe. Warning: this is a lenghty post!




(again, I have no idea how to get the images to upload on the right side.. It's really annoying! I started with paint.net so maybe that's the problem. I'll try to fix it!)

Stiletto, een groene jelly. Twee laagjes zonder topcoat. De bovenste foto is genomen zonder flits en is meer kleuraccuraat, de tweede foto is genomen met flits. Jellies.. Ik weet niet of het echt iets voor mij is. Misschien ligt het ook aan de kleur; deze groen spreekt me niet zo heel erg aan. De groen in de flitsfoto vind ik een stuk mooier. Ook deze lak was makkelijk aan te brengen en droogde snel.

This is Stiletto, a green jelly. This is two coats, without topcoat. The first picture is taken without flash and is way more coloraccurate than the second picture, which is taken with flash. Jellies.. I don't know if they're for me. Maybe it's the color. The green is pretty, but not really appealing to me. The green in the flashpicture is a green I like more. Application with this one was as good as the others I've shown you.





Power Dressing is een blauwe jelly. Dit is twee laagjes, wederom zonder topcoat. De bovenste twee foto's zijn in daglicht genomen zonder flits, de derde foto is met flits. Na één laagje dacht ik 'Dit is niks voor mij, ik ben net een smurf!" maar na het tweede laagje is de kleur een stuk dieper en werd het een mooie 'royal blue'. Deze vind ik, in tegenstelling tot Stiletto, wel erg mooi. Deze was wel een beetje tricky om te lakken. Hoewel de lak niet dun was, leek het wel waterig op de nagel doordat het soort van uitliep. De nagellak zat aan beide zijden van mijn nagels tussen de nagel en de huid in. Nu lak ik niet supernetjes, maar zo erg als bij deze heb ik het nog nooit gehad. Verwijderen van deze lak levert blauwe vingertoppen op en om dat weg te krijgen moest ik flink weken. Desondanks ben ik tevreden over deze lak. De kleur maakt veel goed :)

Power Dressing is a blue jelly. This is two coats, again without topcoat. The first two pictures were taken in daylight, the third was taken with flash. The first two pictures are coloraccurate. After one coat I thought "Oh no, this is so not me!" but after the second coat I changed my mind since she turned out to be a very pretty royal dark blue. I like this one a lot better than I like Stiletto. The polish itself wasn't thin, but it was a bit runny. I had nailpolish on both sides of my nails against the skin. I don't want to say that I'm the best at polishing my nails, but I've never had polish like this before. It was everywhere! Removal of this polish gives smurfettefingers. I needed to soak a lot to get all the blue off my fingers. But, I have to say, I'm pleased with this one and I can see myself wearing it again.





Als laatste in deze post: Ladylike Luxe, een gouden shimmer met haast frosty of foily finish. Dit is de eerste lak die ik draag die gewoon écht niet bij mijn huidskleur past. Het is net alsof mijn handen ontzettend rood zijn! De lak zelf is erg mooi, maar het past gewoon niet bij me. Deze zal op de swaplijst gaan, zodat ik er hopelijk iemand mee blij kan maken bij wie deze lak wel staat :) De lak droogt slechter dan de andere Ciaté lakken die ik tot nu toe geprobeerd heb. De lak was nog helemaal niet droog toen ik de foto's maakte, terwijl de andere lakken dat wel waren.

Last in this post: Ladylike Luxe, a golden shimmer with a nearly frosty or foily finish. This is the first polish I'm wearing, that really doesn't play well with my skintone. I have lobsterclaws! The polish itself is very pretty, but it's just not for me. I will put this on my swaplist. Maybe I can make somebody happy that does look good while wearing this polish :) Drying time was longer than the other polishes I tried from Ciaté. The polish wasn't even dry when I took these pictures, while all the other polishes I've tried were long dry when I started to take pictures.

Overall, I think these are my least favorite of the bunch. I really like the color of Power Dressing, but Stiletto and Ladylike Luxe are just not my kind of colors.

Tomorrow I will give my opinion on the complete winter pack, after I've shown you the last two polishes of this set. I'm really looking forward to those; they look so pretty in the bottle!

Ciaté Vintage

Zoals beloofd, vandaag weer swatches van Ciaté! Het was de bedoeling dat ik er meer van kon posten, maar ik moest even iets oplossen met nagellak uit de VS die ik betaald heb, maar die ik nooit heb ontvangen. Ik was een beetje somber, maar lakken heeft een therapeutische werking dus ik ben weer wat vrolijker!

As promised, today more swatches of Ciaté! I intended to do more swatches, but I had to solve a problem that had something to do with polishes I paid for but never received. Anyway, I was a bit down, but since doing my nails helps me to feel better, I am a little happier now.




Dit is twee laagjes, binnen met flits

Ik heb geen idee hoe ik de afbeelding weer goed gedraaid krijg. Er gaat iets mis bij het uploaden naar blogger, want op mijn pc staat de afbeelding wel goed.. Anyway, dit is weer net zo'n droom om op te doen als Superficial en Sharp Tailoring. De lak is misschien een beetje aan de dikke kant, maar daar staat tegenover dat deze lak in één laag dekkend is. Op de foto is het twee laagjes, omdat ik niet helemaal mooi had gelakt. Het is een erge donkergrijs (op de foto's iets lichter dan ze echt is) en eerder heb ik geroepen dat ze er in het flesje uitziet als RBL Stormy, maar afgaande op de foto's die ik op internet heb gezien, is deze toch echt een stukje donkerder. Ook dit is weer een lak die ik zeker vaker zal dragen. Jeetje, het lijkt wel alsof ik alleen maar de loftrompet kan afspelen bij Ciaté!

I have no idea how to fix the second image, since there is something wrong with uploading to blogger. The image on my computer is on the right side.. Hm. Anyway, this is also a dream to apply, like Superficial and Sharp Tailoring. The polish is a bit gooey, but this polish is opaque in one coat. I used two, because I didn't even out good enough. It's a dark grey creme (a little lighter in the picture than she actually is) and I know I've said earlier that she looks like RBL Stormy, judging on the pictures I've seen online of Stormy, Vintage is darker. This is also a polish I will be wearing more often. Jeez, it sounds like I can't say anything negative about these polishes!



This picture is a bit blurry, but a bit more coloraccurate than the first two pictures. This is also two coats, indoors, but with a teenie bit of daylight instead of flash.

I'm trying to find the right font and watermark for my pictures, so it's a little bit different this time. I think I like this better.

I do have a question for you, fellow nail lovers: some of my nails are peeling. What can you recommend to stop my nails from peeling? They're really getting weak right now, and on my right hand, two of my nails keep breaking and I'm stuck with nubbins on two fingers for a few weeks.. TIA!

I like to be Superficial..

Vandaag de tweede van mijn acht verse Ciaté lakken: Superficial. Superficial is een prachtige teal, ietsje meer groenig dan blauw.

Today I'm wearing the second polish of my fresh Ciaté lacquers; Superficial. Superficial is a gorgeous teal, a little more green than blue.

Wat kan ik hier nou over zeggen? Het aanbrengen was net zo makkelijk als bij Sharp Tailoring, die ik gisteren ophad. Dekkend in één laagje - maar ik had er twee nodig om het mooi te krijgen. De kleur.. Als ik zeg dat ik het nodig vond om niet minder dan drie foto's hiervan te posten, maar niet om verschillende kleuren te laten zien, dan zegt dat toch genoeg? Superficial had gewoon drie foto's nodig omdat ze zo mooi is. Ik vind deze lak echt heel erg mooi en ik weet zeker dat ik deze vaak zal dragen.

What can I say? It applied just as good as Sharp Tailoring, which I wore yesterday, is opaque in one coat - but I needed a second coat to even the polish. The color.. Well, I thought it needed three pictures. Not to show you different settings, just to show you how absolutely gorgeous this is. I really really really love this one and I know for sure I will be wearing it a lot.

Ciaté Order!

Gisteren is mijn Ciaté order binnengekomen die ik vorige week geplaatst heb. Deze heb ik dus zeer snel ontvangen! Mijn bestelling bestond uit zes lakken in the winter pack en twee losse lakken: Superficial en Vintage.

Yesterday my Ciaté order came in! I only ordered last week so they shipped very fast. This was in my order: the winterpack with 6 different polishes and two others: Superficial and Vitage.

In the winter pack zaten: Powerdressing (blauw), Stiletto (groen), Ladylike Luxe (goud), Cocktail dress (rood), Sharp Tailoring (lichtgrijs) en Velvet Tuxedo (donkergrijs). Superficial is een tealkleurige lak, terwijl Vintage grijs is. Afgaande op het flesje komt de kleur overeen met RBL Stormy.

The winter pack contains Power dressing (blue), Stiletto (green), Ladylike Luxe (gold), Cocktail dress (red), Sharp tailoring (light grey) and Velvet Tuxedo (dark grey). Superficial is a Teal, while Vintage is a medium to dark grey polish. Judging it on the look in the bottle, it looks like RBL Stormy.


Ik heb nog geen tijd gehad om met alle lakken te spelen, maar ik kon het uiteraard niet laten om alvast een lakje te proberen. Ik heb Sharp Tailoring geprobeerd, omdat er zo'n mooie gouden shimmer te zien was in het flesje.

I didn't have time to play with all of them yet, but I couldn't resist trying out one of the polishes. I put on Sharp Tailoring, because of the beautiful golden shimmering that shows in the bottle.

De tweede foto is meer kleuraccuraat dan de eerste, maar die toont m.i. de shimmer beter. De shimmer die in het flesje zichtbaar is, toont zich ook op de nagel, yay! Ik vind dit een erg mooie lak, subtiel maar toch niet onzichtbaar. De kwast van het flesje is vrij breed en daar kan ik normaal gesproken niet zo goed mee omgaan, maar het werkte beter dan de prowidebrush van OPI. De droogtijd was prima, niet langer dan normaal.

The second picture is more color accurate than the first one, but the first picture shows the shimmer more. The golden shimmer that I see in the bottle, is also visible on the nail, yay! I think this is a very pretty polish, sophisticated and subtle, but still noticible. Girls who have restrictions about wearing nail polish to work, shouldn't have a problem with wearing this pretty lady. The brush was quite big and normally I just can't cope with wide brushes, but this one was better to work with than OPI's prowidebrush. Drying time was fine, no longer than average.

I'm very happy with my purchase and will be posting swatches of the other polishes when I've had time to play with all of them!
