Dark and Cloudy Konadicure.. Sort Of

Hi all,

Today I have a Konadicure for you that I did a while back and this one gives me a dark and cloudy feeling..

konadicure m60 stamping catrice absolutely chinchilly! wet n wild black creme nail polish nailswatchesCatrice Absolutely Chinchilly! stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and imageplate M60. The color combination gives me a very sad feeling, like pooring rain out of dark clouds.. I think it's the color combination. It's somehow making me sad! I've never had that before.. Weird, eh?

I don't think this is a konadicure I will redo in the future ;)

The OPI Damone Roberts 1968 giveaway is now closed! The winner will be announced later this week.

Matte Hidden Treasure

Hi all,

A couple of days ago, I showed you Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure and I decided to do something different, so I pulled out my matte topcoat!

sally hansen hidden treasure over wet n wild black creme catrice matt top coat nail polish nailswatchesSally Hansen Hidden Treasure over Wet n Wild Black Creme with Catrice Matt Top Coat. Isn't that amazing? I thought I was going to love the shiny version more, but I definitely like the matte version better.

sally hansen hidden treasure over wet n wild black creme catrice matt top coat nail polish nailswatchesThe duochrome/multichrome effect of the flakies doesn't disappear the least when you put a matte topcoat on it! I love it. It makes it look like scales or something. Prettay!

A full review on Catrice Matt Top Coat will follow in the next couple of weeks :)

Silver and Black Konad

Hi all,

A quickie today, so many things to do! I'm reorganizing my room a bit, giving it a more "home-y" feel.. I have to sort out a whole box filled with old friendship books (from when I was like, 7?), old agenda's, prizes/certificates that I got from diving and a ton more. I think it's enough to keep me busy all morning ;)

For today I have a konadicure that I did last week and since I really like silver and black combinations, I thought I'd share.

barielle night moves wet n wild black creme nail polish konad m64 imageplate konadicure stamping nailswatchesBarielle Night Moves stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and imageplate M64. Silver and Black is a golden combination with me, and so is this one. I had a little bit of trouble transferring the stamp good enough to get straight lines, but I still like how it turned out!

My original post about Barielle Night Moves can be found here.

Do you have any 'golden combinations', either in colors or maybe even polishes that you like to combine together? I'm always in for some new inspiration!

Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure

Hi all,

Hidden Treasure is hiding for a lot of nail polish lovers, but I am one lucky bastard and I've had it for some time now! It's flakie galore in a bottle really.. I posted about it earlier when I wore it over Sephora by OPI Blue Grotto.

sally hansen hidden treasure flakie polish nailswatchesSally Hansen Hidden Treasure, one coat over one coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme. Awesomeeeeeee! I have to admit that when I look at the bottle, I'm kinda like 'meh'. I have that with more of my flakie polishes, because it just doesn't appeal to me from the other side of the glas..

sally hansen hidden treasure flakie polish nailswatchesBut then, when I put it on, it's like *haaaaaalelujah!* The main color of the flakies is orange, but when you tilt your hand just the tiniest little bit, you'll see yellow, gold and green pop up! It's so awesome to look at. This is over black, which is probably the color that gives it the most *pop* in my opinion (though I have to say that it's pretty amazing over pretty much every (dark) color!)

sally hansen hidden treasure flakie polish nailswatchesYou can see the colorchanging in this closeup pretty well, this picture shows every color that shows up when you wear Hidden Treasure.. *gasps* cool, eh?

Application is a little tricky; Sally Hansen's brush is huge and not that easy to work with. It takes on way too much polish, so you have to scoop that off before you put on the flakies over your basecolor..

Also, while removing these flakies (or others, for that matter), be sure to whipe off the polish to your tip. Do not scrub this polish towards your cuticles! The flakies will get stuck and it's almost impossible to get them off when they're stuck..

I see a lot of combinations with HT in the future..

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Wet n Wild Rustic

Hi all,

A real quickie today - I'm about to crash into bed (it's 0.45 when I'm typing this) after celebrating my sisters birthday. I ate some delicious chocolate pie and way too many yummy other things, but I enjoyed myself (and my sister did too). This is one of the polishes that Rachel picked up for me for our awesome megaswap!

wet n wild color craze rustic nail polish nailswatchesWet n Wild Rustic, three coats in daylight. Rustic is what the name suggests: a true rust color! It's filled with bronze shimmer, making it pretty to look at. The color in my pic is a little too light - imagine it a tad more brown (and thus a tad darker).

wet n wild color craze rustic nail polish nailswatchesApplication was a bit tricky for me because of the really short brush handle - it's so short and tiny! The formula on the polish was actually pretty good, so I have no complaints about the polish itself.

I hope you'll enjoy your Sunday!

Lacey nails!

Hi all,

Last week, I showed you Barielle Get Mauve-ing and today I have the konadicure that I did over it afterwards. I like these colors as a background for konads like this!

Because Get Mauve-ing is such a soothing color, I really liked the lacey stamping on it. I like those more on the dusty, muted looking polishes somehow.

Jack O'Lantern Nail Ideas

Hi all,

A little over the top manicure today! I wanted to do some Jack O'Lantern designs on my nails, and decided to a different one for every nail. It looks way overdone like this, so I would recommend doing the Jack O'Lantern as an accent on one or maybe two nails :)

jack o lantern halloween pumpkin nails orange nail polish nailswatchesI used China Glaze Breakin' as a base, and Wet n Wild Black Creme for the faces and the candle on my pinkie. I did the flame with an ittybitty of Breakin'. My hand wasn't as steady as I wanted it to be while I drew on the faces, but you get the idea, right? :P

I'm still thinking about what to do with my nails for Halloween.. We don't have Halloween here in The Netherlands, but I like the theme so I want to do something with it :)

Dress Like A Chick For Halloween!

Hi all,

I let my sister pick what to post today and since she thought chicks were cute.. Chicks it is. It feels very easter-y to me but it looks so damn cute and I couldn't help myself! I assume you can dress up like a chick for Halloween, so chicks on the nails must be fine as well :P

chick chicken baby nails yellow easter cute halloween eggshell egg nail polish nailswatches nailartChick nails! Ain't that cute? *giggles*. I used Hard Candy Splendid as a base and H&M Love At First Sight for the eggshells and the eyes. I used Wet n Wild Black Creme for the eyes and finished the chicks by giving them beaks with China Glaze Breakin'. They turned out pretty nice!

chick chicken baby nails yellow easter cute halloween eggshell egg nail polish nailswatches nailartThey would do great as easter nails as well, so I think you'll be seeing a variation on this creation somewhere near Easter next year too :)

What are you gonna dress up like for Halloween?

Silver and Black Houndstooth

Hi all,

A couple of days ago (it might already have been last week - time flies!) I did a pretty nice Konad - if I may say so myself - and I wanted to share! I like the contrast in this one, it really makes it pop.

color club what a drag silver foil konad m63 wet n wild black creme konadicure stamping nailart femme fatale collection 2009 nail polish nailswatchesColor Club What A Drag stamped with Wet n Wild Black Creme and imageplate M63. It pops! And it's so easy to do. I'm gonna keep the color combination in mind; I really like it. And can you believe I had not used this design before? This is the first time! Jeez, gotta grab my plates a little more, cuz it's cool.. *stops rambling*

You can read my original post about What A Drag here.

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Wet n Wild Night Prowl

Hi all,

Today I have a polish that I got in a swap package from a lovely MUA'er :) Wet n Wild isn't easily available in The Netherlands, although some webshops sell it :)

wet n wild wnw night prowl black base magenta purple glitter nail polsih nailswatchesWet n Wild Night Prowl, three coats in daylight. Night Prowl is a black base filled with magenta/red based purple glitter. The glitter shows up easily, although some glitter disappears after applying the third coat. The surface isn't completely smooth, but it's not bumpy either. I didn't use a topcoat in this picture and I'm sure that if you use a topcoat, the surface will be completely smooth on this baby.

Application was alright. I'm not really into the skinny brushes and since Wet n Wild has one.. That's a minus on my list. The base was a bit watery, but due to the glitters it was still a bit thick while applying. Drying time was good.

What are your favorites from Wet n Wild? I know Black Creme is an overall favorite because of the stamping, but I wanna know more!

It Feels Like Fall

Hi all!

Is the weather acting like it's fall there as well? It sure has around here. It has cooled off and we had lots and lots of rain. Yesterday was alright, we even had three beams of sunlights. It felt like fall, so I thought a color that made me think of fall was 'in order'.

I ordered this one in the time that I thought everything would look great with my skintone. A couple of months back, I realized that not everything looks good on me and since golds made my hands look like lobster claws, this baby stayed an untried ever since I got it in last December. I expected it to make my hands look red and ugly and I didn't really like the color in the bottle.. Untill I put it on.

china glaze golden spurs brown gold shimmer fall rodeo diva collection 2009 nail polish nailswatchesChina Glaze Golden Spurs, three coats in daylight. Golden Spurs is a golden shimmer that has a hint of brown to it.. I think. I can't put my finger on it. And I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised by this little gem! It might not look spectacular to you, but it's one of the few gold-ish shades that I can wear without getting ugly red claws. I really likt it! It feels like a very wearable color, even in an office environment.

Application on this was good. The polish was just the right structure for me and was easy to apply. Drying time was good as well. I waited 10 minutes before stamping on it and it was dry when I started stamping.

Fall means leaves falling off the trees to me, so I immediately thought of the leavespattern on one of my Bundle Monster Plates. It turned out alright! It would have been better when I used a dark brown polish so the contrast wouldn't be so harsh, but I like it nontheless.

Do you own polish that reminds you of fall?

Wet n Wild Candy Apple Twist

Hi all!

Today will be the last day of my holiday with Michelle and Michèle (awwwww :( ) but I don't know how tired I will be when I get home, so I sceduled this post anyway. I got this at the blogsale of Polish Insomniac a while ago, since Wet n Wild is not easy to come by in The Netherlands.

Wet n wild candy apple twist coral pink creme bright nailpolish nailswatchesWet n Wild Candy Apple Twist, three coats in daylight. Candy Apple Twist is a Bright (with capital B) coral creme with pinkish undertones. Whoa, this sure is bright! I like how bright it is, and I like the color itself, but not on me. It just doesn't feel like 'me'! Such a shame, because she is really pretty.

Application was alright. I has a bit of a problem with some cuticle flooding on the first nails, but when I realized there was a problem, I was more careful and it was easier to apply. Dryingtime was good since it dried pretty quickly.

Do you like corals? What do you think of Candy Apple Twist?

Thanks for stopping by!
