Quick! Throw On Your Sunglasses!

Hi all!

I have something for you that requires you wearing your sun glasses. Ready? Here we go!

nfu oh 064 64 lilac lavender dusty pink purple holo holographic nail polish nailswatchesNfu Oh 064, two coats over Aqua Base Coat in sunlight. Holoooooooooooooooooooo!!! Holy shizz, this is holo! 064 is a lilac-ish holographic polish that's just in your face!

I finally decided to try some after seeing them in person on our vacay in August, since I was curious - I didn't think I would like them on me. And to be honest, it's truly stunning, but I still don't know what to think of it. It's so hysterical!

nfu oh 064 64 lilac lavender dusty pink purple holo holographic nail polish nailswatchesOne thing is true though. I couldn't stop staring at it. I just had no other choice - I had to keep looking at it. In some angles I think it's awesome, in some angles I think it's too much. I can't make up my mind!

nfu oh 064 64 lavender lilac dusty pink purple holo holographic nail polish nailswatchesApplication over Aqua Base Coat was alright. I still had some issues with it since I didn't get all the polish on my nails smoothly, but it was way better than the application of GOSH Holographic (which was horrible). Drying time was really quick so that was a big plus!

If you don't own the Aqua Base Coat, I'd recommend trying it or buying the GOSH Fix basecoat. Michèle wrote an article about it and it's just as good as the Nfu Oh basecoat.

nfu oh 064 64 lilac lavender dusty pink purple holo holographic nail polish nailswatchesAfter all these pictures and staring at it for so long, I'm still undecided. I love the rainbows, but I just can't get past the fact that they're just so insanely holographic. I have to say, Nfu Oh really knows how to make holo's, you gotta give 'em that!

What do you think of the Nfu Oh holo's? Let me know!

Readers Requests: Comparisons

Hi all!

There were a couple of people asking for comparisons, so here they are! If you would like to see another comparison, please let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

All the comparisons lined up on the nailwheel :)

First up, I was asked to do a comparison between Essie Chinchilly and Catrice Clay-ton My Hero.

essie chinchilly clay-ton my hero catrice comparison nail polishLeft Essie Chinchilly, right Catrice Clay-ton My Hero. As you can see, these aren't similar at all. Chinchilly is a khaki creme, while Clayton My Hero is a lighter sort of khaki, almost sandy brown, that holds golden shimmer. These are not dupes.

Next up are Essence In The Jungle (from the Show Your Feet line) and OPI Jade Is The New Black. In The Jungle is supposed to be a dupe for Jade Is The New Black, as I've seen on various boards.

opi jade is the new black green creme essence show your feet in the jungle comparison nail polish Left Essence In The Jungle, Right OPI Jade Is The New Black. The biggest difference is the finish that the polishes have; Jade Is The New Black dries completely smooth and shiny, while In The Jungle dries a bit weird; it's not satin, but it's not shiny either. It looks a bit bumpy, but it's not when you feel the polish. Besides that, In The Jungle is a little bit more blue and less dusty than OPI Jade Is The New Black. These two are not dupes.

Last but not least I have a comparison between Essie Lilacism and Illamasqua Wink for you.

Essie lilacism illamasqua wink lilac creme comparison nail polishLeft Essie Lilacism, right Illamasqua Wink. Wink and Lilacism are really really close and I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference if it wasn't for the fact that I know which polish is on which side. Both are lilac cremes and similar in opacity. This is two coats on both. The application on Wink is better in my opinion though. These are dupes, so if you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Illamasqua Wink, I'd recommend getting Essie Lilacism.

A little overview of the comparisons:

China Glaze Visit Me In Prism

Hi all!

How are you all doing? I hope you are all fine! The working week is almost over, so we'll have a long weekend ahead of us and it seems like the weather fairies are playing along - yay! Today I have a slightly older polish for you from a 2006 Collection from China Glaze: The Kaleidoscope Collection. I wasn't really into holographic polishes and I don't like the Nfu Oh holo's, but I LOVE these Kaleidoscopes! I managed to get hold of three of them; Kaleidoscope him out, He's going in Circles and Visit me in Prism. Today I have pictures for you from the latter!

China Glaze Visit Me In Prism, three coats in sunlight. Visit me in Prism is actually more lilac than my picture shows you, as she is a very silver but slighty lilac holograpic (yes, to me this falls in the holographic category) polish. I love the holographic effect that the Kaleidoscopes have:

See that it has more lilac to it? I adore this and I'm sure I will wear it a lot in the summer.

Application was ok; the polish was a bit watery but nothing unmanagable so it went on pretty nicely. Dryingtime was good.

I will be hunting the other Kaleidoscopes down when I see them for sale somewhere.. I want them all! What do you think of the Kaleidoscopes and Visit me in Prism in particular? What's your favorite Kaleidoscope?

Thanks for stopping by!
