Hi all!
While browsing, I stumbled on a design on the Orly website. It's called 'animal' - although I don't know where the animal reference comes from - and it can be found here. I decided to copy the idea with a couple of changes :) Let's take a look!
I used H&M Love At First Sight as a base, which is opaque in two coats. I randomly placed black scribbles with China Glaze Ink (I need to get myself a bottle of black creme.. Grr) and scribbled a little more with RBL Stormy. In the original design, lace was places on top of the scribbly look, but since I don't have any lace to put on my nails, I decided to go with Konad imageplate M57. I stamped the image with Konad special polish in Black Pearl and voila!
I really love the look of this and I think I will do this again to wear it as a full manicure. Maybe I can even try this with slightly different colors, but I think you'd better not go with colors that are too bright..
What do you think of this lace illusion manicure?
Thanks for stopping by!
het ziet er echt tof uit, net echt !
ReplyDeleteWow it looks amazing! I think you did a great job in recreating the look and imo the stamping is better than having lace applied on the nails.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely gonna try this too.
Love it! Nice work.
ReplyDeleteI am spechless!!! I must try this one in the near future!
ReplyDeleteI love how this looks! When the photo first started loading in my google reader I thought you'd done one of those real-lace mani's where you set pieces of lace on your finger and sealed them with topcoat. So cool!
ReplyDelete(And btw, Wet'n'Wild Black Creme is on its way to you!)
love it..i thought its a real lace... XD well done
ReplyDeletegreat idea! the color is perfect, i've tried real lace before, i like it, but it's bulky...
ReplyDeletegreat job...:)
Ooo I love it! It looks like lace and/or snake skin!
ReplyDeleteI don't really see a lace effect, but I do see the animal reference: it's very snake skin like!
ReplyDeleteit looks just like a snake!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG, when I saw a picture of this design on my dashboard I thought you just glued some lace on your nails but now I see you didn't! Yes, this is a great illusion mani! <3
ReplyDeleteVery creative! I like this.
